G'day!

YOU'RE the one that inspired me to use JVC's grasses and that. And now I'm workin on a Tasmanian themed route. By the way, I added you on Skype Mulie! ^^

Cheers! :)

Jake.

Where am I? I'm a route, that was designed in 1929, I'm a through station, between Bombala and Goulburn....

*edit* screenshot replaced with more 'accurate' one....

I do see resemblance to Cooma's track layout... the positioning of the two road loco shed, turntable and station is very is very similar.

I'm a little thrown with the 1929 reference... is this a reference to history or a possible Cooma as it appears in TS world?? Even though I know the line reached Cooma well before 1929, I'm unsure to when the existing station building was constructed.

Bugger it, I'll put $10 on Cooma :p

Well done Forest Runner, yes, it is Cooma, based off a 1929 trackplan, albeit I made some rather large errors (the station is based off the loop, not the mainline), so I will need to fix that, and the orientation is North/south, so...meh :)

Inquiry, as its a fictional modular route, based off real life trackplan, what sort of textures/scenery should there be? I've taken the liberties of adding a dead end grain/livestock loading area (non-interactive currently), station building and such, but as I've never been to Cooma, I got no idea what sort of buildings/etc would be appropriate.

What kind of "buildings" are you talking about here Mullie? Oridinary buildings with no relation to the railway, local industry or railway infrastructure?

I was working off mental imagery from when I used to ride the trains in regular service down that way back in the 1980's as a young 'un. If memory serves correct there was a number of good sidings to the right hand side of where you have your loop... and a small fuel depot to right and behind of the view you've provided.

I'll now have to dig out my own trackplans for a squiz. Anyway, best of luck with the Cooma project, Mulie.

Lastly, to keep the vibe of the Screenshotz spirit going, random NSWGR shot...

At present, more annoyed with myself, the track spacing on the real line is about 4-5m, mine, due to the templates I'm using for smooth yard turnouts, etc, is about 10m apart...I'll try to move them back to a more 'appropriate' spacing. Forest Runner, if you find some decent 'recent' trackplans, I'd be grateful for a look at them, so I could work out how to flesh this 'yard' out some more - it looks (at present) very very empty - I might add some sidings and such, just to fill it out a bit more :)

Mulie,

This may be a good place to start for the look and feel of the area. Check out the Site. Some nice railway infrastructure shots... and some panaramic views of the nearby environs.

I also have track plans for Cooma 1963 (as above) and one dating back to 1912. PM me if required.

Again, random NSWGR shot, from Axe-man's route...

Cooma v2 (with extensive liberties taken). Which do people like more? v1 which is fairly 'basic' or v2, which offers much shunting possibilities?

Hi Oz Trainzers!

Forest_Runner, in your shot above your latest one, I was wondering where I might find a) the locomotive and/or b) the "checkrail" things on your switches (sorry, I don't know the proper terminology for those kinds of railway infrastructure doohickeys):o

Thankyou, and Happy Trainzing!;)
Scott.

Can you use Google Earth or Google Maps for it? Google Earth lets you view any area from the 50's (I think) up until. Its a very cool feature, although i've never
used it.

in the shot with the railmotor
what people set are you using?
i dont have that lot

I think that set of people comes with TRS2009 WBE and TRS2010.

Hi All

Been playing around with a little layout in Trainz, which I'm actually using for ideas for my model railway (which I plan to extend some time). A few screenies on it :) Inspiration has been Mulie's stuff of course :P :)

F class #184 seen with a short pass crossing the relatively new steel and concrete bridge.

The F class again, seen crossing a dirt road just along from the bridge.

Just before the bridge, there was a small (rarely used) stopping place. This is looking towards the bridge, and the crossing (beyond the bridge). The train has disappeared along the line somewhere...

This is just a little 'fun' project, to see if I can do something a little different :)

Have fun!
