Australian screenshots

Thumbnails? I do the following: save the image with a name I want. Then resize the image down the 120*90, and save with the letter t on the end of the name. So the images will then be 'j541-shuttles-01.jpg' and 'j541-shuttles-01t.jpg'. I then upload them to my website, and then wrap the links in tags like so:

I'm planning to fix that on the J class Rod... And a TS09 version of the A2 will also have 'proper' textures on the tires as well. Basically, as I work on them, they will get the semi reflective tires :)

Goodone mate! And any VicTrainz full member can do the same thing on our site!
I am just working out the best way of using photo-bucket for those not fortunate enough to have a suitable web site.
Image shack can be used too, however they do not like you using my method, because it bypass' all the spam they load on these days. I will get back into it tonight
Cheers

Nice shots everyone... here is something I've nearly finished for my route.... Just a few things to sort out....namely the roof....and Holden sign.... but I like it so far.... :)

I need colhad to make more Holdens ;)
....Oh yeah..... here's a side shot of the "real" building...

Hi Axe, good to hear from you.

I had a little boy yesterday :)

vtw, davio, is it possible to get your 06 stuff to work in 09 or do you need to do some things on your end? If so that is a bit disappointing for me because the main reason I upgraded from 04 was to use your awesome models but maybe I should have researched some more and gone with one of the other versions.. oh well.. don't take this comment as whining or complaining at you either please. I would just like to know so I don't stuff around for ages with something that isn't going to work.. I don't wanna put any pressure on you because that really isn't fair, and I sure remember what it was like with people complaining :)

Congratulations on the arrival of your son Spooney.
I remember the day my first son was born...
I was fishing on Nobbys Beach .....whoooops no mobile phones then :D
Never mind, I made it for my second son though.

To be honest, I haven't had a look at my stuff in 09 yet but I would have expected it to work in compatibility mode.
I'll have to take a peek and see what the issues are. If they're not too serious I might update them.

Cheers
David

If your interested, I would be happy to go through and fix any errors I can without the mesh, or script changes, for 09. Plus attempt to track down script errors and mesh errors (dunno how to fix, but I can certainly try and find them :) ).

Script changes will be for the better, as the changes made within the game are there to prevent conflicts of various scripts :)

Just an offer, since your stuff is far too good to lose :)

Thanks Zec, I've just been in 09 and of the built in stuff, I only had trouble with the candy 81.
Unfortunately the script is encrypted so i can't debug it but the Freightcorp 81 script is suppose to be identical and it works.
Anyway I copied the 81loco_fc.gs from the freightcorp 81 and renamed it 81loco_cd.gs and replaced the 81loco_cd.gse with it and it all works.
Apart from the icon0 and texture warnings.

They seem to work in native mode too.

However if you find problems with any of our stuff drop me an email and I'll see if a fix is viable.

Cheers

Same here Dave, All of your locos work fine for me in 09 :) , only the numbering on your Candy 81's won't work :( ,

Cheers,

Matt

Depends on how well you want them to run in 09... If you want then to run properly, they need a completely different enginespec and enginesound. That said, the enginesounds in 09 are much better, and the smoke effects can be made to do heaps more ('operating' cylinder drains via the keyboard, a much better 'chimney' smoke animation, and a couple of other bits and bobs).
If you don't mind having a constant whine in the sound, and the Espec behaving strangely in cab mode (and being really sluggish in DCC/AI mode), then the 04+ versions will work. I ran Billegulla's A2 class and J class at the Healesville exhibition many times over the weekend without any trouble :)

Re: Nat's signals - I can't get the 2asp diverge signals to work properly (they show double reds when the line is clear. They then show the diverge properly (sometimes) but continue to show diverge when the line is clear. 3asp diverge signals seem to work OKAY.

Anyway, took a test train down from Wattle Creek to Wadalbavale to see how Matt's new hoppers were going (they are bloody outstanding, BTW):

Cruising downgrade into Karrah Bay

Shunting Karrah Bay

After arriving at Wadalbavale, the 81 Class was sent to the loco, while the 48's shunted the remaining container flats and grain hoppers.

I LOVE 48 Class most of all

Yeah this is in native mode and works ok

Ah, ok. Must have been the candy 81 causing the problems with the others then
Don't know why but when the candy 81 was on the route most of the other scripted loco's didn't work

Cheers

Yeah NSW signals are a problem in 09. I'll have a look at them one day.

I think it has to do with the 81 script being 'broken'. This then 'breaks' any script that is inherited (?) by the broken script.

As for the signals. This is a fairly wide spread problem. It's to do with the signal attempting to do things that signals shouldn't be able to do (setting a speed limit IIRC) in Trainz. There were attempts to find a 'mid ground' if I remember right, but the problem was that they would conflict with too many scripts in Trainz, and be too easy to cause crashes. You'll find that many of the European signals have the same problem.
Zec

Edit: David, you really need to find some better smoke textures for that 38 :( They look too much like the standard Trainz ones. I would suggest using LieLestoSbrat's smoke set. Look really nice IMO :) Also, if you name the cylinder drain smoke effect attachments (if you have any) 'a.drain0' 'a.drain1' etc, they should be able to be turned on/off in TC3/09 (plus you can set the max speed for them for 04-TC2, so they aren't on all the time).
