A few shots from the Lilydale area early one morning

D1 517 approaches Lilydale with a Healesville goods

One of the unique aspects of Lilydale back in the days of steam were double departures. In this example, D1 565 sets off for Healesville with a pass whilst classmate D1 581 makes a simultaneous departure with a mixed for Warburton.

As the lines split, it is possible to watch the branch trains already beginning their climb towards Mt Evelyn whilst Healesville trains have an easier time, at least for the moment

Wonderful screenshots Tim - Great work mate, keep it up.

I'm still looking for a work-around on the 'skipping' driver command trackmarks for my Sydney route; and have used triggers to 'set and reset' junctions instead on the suspect areas. I may also have to use 'Interlocking towers' to set some paths instead of using the usual trackmarks.

Trackmarks are easy,... Interlocking Towers need a little more brain-power.

Here's another shot of the 'coat-hanger' from my route.

And a ferry-ride around the harbour in the 'Lady Northcott.

WOW, that's amazing of the signals you've built. May i ask several questions: 1. Would you also construct a gantry version of those signals? 2. Will you also build a 6-aspect turnout signal with a low-speed indicator and/or working call-on or shunt aspects and include route indicators for all signals? 3. According to the models you've built, will you make the low-speed signal aspect to be controlled. what i mean is that don't allow the low-speed indicator to be lit unless the approaching train is close enough, basically with the low-speed aspect, it usually has a timing delay before it can be lit on some controlled signals Lastly, can't wait till this is released, Cheers lspdyiu

I wish I knew which post you are referring to ...

Brilliant colour, Roy.
Absolutely the best coathanger shot I've ever seen here. The water reflection is great too!

You gonna do NYE?

Thanks very much for the compliments. Although I think I'll leave New Years Eve to the professionals - I could get my fingers burnt.

Cheers mate,
Roy

Awesome shots Tom Roy and Tim, really lifting the bar for us.

In the process of weathering my first wagon... quite satisfying to see it in game.

A humble narrow gauge flat car is a bit of a boring choice, but achievable to build, map and texture for a first successful go. Not to mention the 3ft 6in bogies are homemade and animated.

Looks great Hiyo, I wouldn't really say Flat cars are boring, their one of the most important rolling stock when it comes to railways as they can carry about anything from small Trucks, Tractors to Cars or even Caravan's.

What I'm building is pretty much boring to people...... more Steel Slab wagons, lol

Nice work hiyo,... You can do something, that I couldn't even consider. I know it's great to create something and make it work. It's a real buzz.

As Azervich says, flatcars are one of the most important rolling stock, and are used constantly.

We've all got individual skills, and this could be the start of a whole series of achievements for you.

In 3ft 6in gauge QR could be lucky. Keep up the great work.

Roy

Thanks Roy. Nice shots of yours there also. But if I can avoid it there will be no "back to the city" for me! I can enjoy a passing view of both the Indian Pacific and the Country Link trains in your shots at a train spotting location (very!) nearby, without the need to face up to the city madness :-)

Roy again nice pictures ! But why the hell did your XPT power car only got one wheelset per bogie :hehe: ?

It's a bug that until now had only been noticed on steam loco tenders, nice pickup.
Graeme

Thanks MF01 and Graeme,

Anyone else 'Spot-the-problem' ?

I know I'm getting older, but I've always thought trains went better with double bogeys front and back.

I'll have to see if I can get a trade-in on those 4-wheelers, otherwise, I may as well drop the XPT's from my Sydney route. They say there are a few QR std gauge around, but I guess they wouldn't look right either. Oh well, back to the drawing board.

Cheers,
Roy

I borrowed a 2nd hand pair of bogeys from Everleigh Workshop for the XPT PC CL New. They'll have to do until the XPT gets a makeover.
