As for the MLV's im testing them (sorry if i can't say that or show pictures i just love MLV's)

Hi 0099,
Feel free to say or show what you like. I think I said in my email, that if you wish to pass on any of the rolling stock, the recipient receives it knowing it is a beta version and that they accept it as such, meaning any faults or improvements they email me with the information.

cheers

JAMEZ001, yesterday while I was out photting the friday flour run south, I did get a look at the ex AN hoppers you mentioned earlier. Some of them had been painted in a mustard colour (ie not orange like the locos, but not yellow like the AN stripe on the green hoppers) and took some photos, which I will clean up and upload to my Flickr! account should anyone know what they are, and be able to locate a model of them for TRS (or choose to make one).

This is my first post on this thread.
I like most classes of Austrilan Steam Locos my faviroties coming from VR in the form of Classes J, R and K.
I was wondering if anyone can remember this event.

I believe they are the Manildra Flours hoppers, see them a fair bit here in Orange.:p

Tom

The one's I am referring to definatly aren't Manildra built (non-MG*H). The one's I have seen were still in Green and Yellow. Perhaps the ones Raichase saw were ex WAGR hoppers?

If I can find a pic of the hoppers I saw I will post it.

Edit: They were AHHF hoppers. I found some photo's the I took, but I don't have a scanner.

Second AN hopper in the consist. (I think)

Maybe this is the thread to post this in... :o

As some of you may know I've been creating sessions for Phil Skene's Austral Bay layout and trying to limit myself to Aussie stock. This isn't as easy as it might sound. There is a plethora of Aussie stock on the DLS but a significant amount of it is non-interactive. This does kinda make it unusable except possibly as window dressing or similar. I would hope that creators working in the present (post SP4 etc) consider the industry capability of stock to be an important part of what they're doing.

In particular I have trouble with log cars and flat cars. I've kinda whimped out by using Charlie Lear's very excellent NZR Url wagons under the dubious name Clinchfield (the last time I looked that wasn't in Oz!). Aside from the name they do have an Australasian look about them. But the flat car is a real problem. The only one I can find that works is the built-in NSWGR flat car which is really starting to show its age now. In preference I've been using some American 40' flatcars, the bogies and couplers are much better looking and they don't look wildly out of place. BUT THEY AREN'T AUSSIE! What do you guys carry bulldozers, trucks, army vehicles, tractors and farm machinery on?

I don't want to get into that feeding frenzy of "please build this" and "please build that" but I would like to reiterate the importance of industry capable stock. It makes sessions so much more interesting and interesting means fun!

And yes you're quite right; I couldn't even create a broom to sweep the yard, let alone rollingstock and scenery.

And if you see this as a complaint (which it really isn't) it isn't directed at any one in particular and I apologize for any offence caused. You guys basically do a terrific job. I'm just saying please remember the factory workers!

Cheers

I've just started industry interactive and the biggest problem I have is trying to find loads everyone agrees upon. You say there are no flatcars but trying to setup a flat car for multiple types of loads can be difficult. I recently did an open wagon and have had to make about 6 versions.

Peter, why do you need 6 versions? You can (Unless there is a change in the mesh) use a single one, with multiple queues and as many attachment points as you want :)

because if you have one setup for pallets with 20 odd att points it would look a bit silly if you were able to load 20 containers not only because of numbers but because of att point placements.

anyway another steel wagon for newcastle, anyone want a beta?

Peter, you can name the attachments what ever you want. Same as you can have the multiple queues, and tell them what objects, and what attachments, it should be using.
Eg. For a the open wagon there, you have a set of attachments for the containers (for example a.20ftcont0, a.20ftcon1 for two of them) and tell the config.txt to use these two attachments for the 20ft container queue. You can them have another set of attachments for the pallet loads (a.pallets0, a.pallets1, etc) and you then put in the config.txt that you want the second queue to use these attachments. Same as you can have a passenger car
that also loads luggage, etc by telling TRS to use the different attachment points for the different loads.
