I think we'll all be dead and buried by then :hehe:. Would be nice too see if Pete could get sum of his other content done via 3ds for 3.5 version's though so i thought i'd ask.

Its improved, the last hotfix has allowed me to be able to run it at decent FPS. Hopefully the Service Pack will iron out all the bugs.
I have found my tracks run alot better in TANE than TS12.
Alot of fiddling to do to get content to work in TANE which was in TS12.

Cheers
David

I have enough trouble and even less time David to worry about having to fix content to work in another version mate, If they made a new version then they should of made the content to also work in it right from the get go as i thought the idea was to bring new people into the game not turn them away with all the drama that has become Tane.
New folk to this game would struggle to get their Aussie Routes to the standard that a few of the regular's like your self and a couple of others here have i think. There is an amazing amount of Aussie Content out there for us i just wish it was all brought up to the latest standard with say baking and shadows is all. Not a complaint or whinge just my thought's is all so please do not turn this into a slinging match on who does what or who can make what.
Cheers Mick.

Well good news you do not need shadows in TANE.

I would tend to think it would not be to hard to make a tool that could take a current IM file / textures and create baked texture format files, PEV had a tool so you could take IM files to 3DS but it was shut down by the powers that be.

Bearcat my question was for Pete if i wanted to steal any of his content i would not be here asking i already know what's involved in taking other people's content via any other of a heap of other different programs out there on the Net, It would be really great to turn up here in this section one day and get sum actual answer's from the actual creator's, And just maybe one day sum nicely made content for us all to use freely.
Mick.

Do not no where the idea of stealing content came form - i was musing about somebody making a tool to add baked textures to assets made in gmax.

For me, my content creation days are almost over I have achieved what I wanted and that was to have as much NSWGR (Tuscan to Candy) era content as possible. There is the odd work in the pile line.

As I have stated before I create for my own purposes and use the DLS as my own personal off site back up system :D.

It is nice to keep some control of ones creation by after N3V, as part of the so called clean up allowed anybodies to change, rename and do as they wish to others works it sort of took the edge of things.

I know your wanting reply from Peter and I will point this post out to him, but it may be a long time coming.

This issues with baked texture is about source mesh formats if it was in 3DS I could do a baked export yes.

There was a method that we were using was a bit hit and miss and somewhat worked by I am informed it is broken in windows 10.

There is a commercial product that will convert Gmax file to 3DS but it out of my price tag unless someone wants to pay for it for me :)

G'day NSWGR_46Class,

Several months ago, I acquired the A class .gmax mesh - so generously provided by Pete, and after several attempts of applying and coordinating new textures, my effort had paid off. I decided to modify the A class mesh in to a B class because the existing version needed some serious attention, with the exhaustive, yet undoubtedly rewarding process of converting the .gmax file to a .max file, having the ambition for shadow-baking.

Here is a progress picture, which dates from December, last year.

I am familiar with the process of
converting .gmax files to .max files, hopefully, I can be of assistance at some point in time.

Regards.

Was anybody else a subscriber to Australian Railway Illustrated, last email I got was the printer had gone into receivership and they were trying to sort it out but that was 3 months ago.

Hi All,

H222 - Lovely screenshots :) Is that a new XRB model in the middle? If so can't wait for a release if its going to be a public model?

Stewart did a great job on ARI and I know I will defiantly miss him and it. I know he was working on a book and I am excited for its eventual release in due course.

Cheers,

Looks like the old XRB to my eye's although i do spy Tom's X Class in Jamie's very very very very very very very very bare Melbourne Route pic's :hehe:.
Mick.

Uh, what ones are you referring to? There are plenty of different shots, locos, rollingstock and routes being displayed. Most of it is on the download station or unavailable

looking for routes to run intermodal trains, but don't know what routes or wagon types are used?

Bit of confussious time for me, What is the main gauge used in the electrified coal network up there in QLD ?.
These were taken on Kentith45 amazing QLD Route

So i'm not sure if he has used a nice looking track or if its the wrong gauge for up that way as sum of the QR Rolling stock i downloaded doesn't fit this gauge at all, I have a DEM i made of the Gladstone port area and when i try Williamg's electric locos he made ages ago well they fit this track but his rolling stock doesn't

I just downloaded sum of William2's nice Cat stuff for QLD and i thought he also made sum track for the correct gauge but havn't been able to find it in my collection. Anyways if sum kind soul could help me out i'd appreciate it and i promise not to call you names just cause you come from north of the border either :hehe:.
Cheers Mick.
