rbar_164, When crops of pretty well all fruits and vegetables are grown they run across the hill not down it, this slows the soil displacement. However great shot all the same, nice work.
Any type of farming tractor will do.

I just put a few old vehicles and some tractors, also some trailers for collecting and shipping harvests...

I looked at that screenie and loved the Scene but knew it was really wrong :( I could not put my finger on it and held my tongue ;)
And you know it was the vines running down the hill all the time, I guess my eye knew it was wrong, but being a retired train driver I saw a lot of farms from the tracks, however I know not why these things look as they do. Thanks for the illumination :D

Boys & Their Toys

G'day Everyone,

I know you have not seen me around for a while; but work is pretty good at the moment and school is getting off to a good start to the year. Now I have been working on and have now finished a QR D17. Here is a some shots of the soon to be released sample model; QR D17 855.

G'day Steve and Rod,

Those vineyards would be diagonal but I am yet to find a spline of such that I am happy with. If you know of one, let me know :D

Cheers

rbar_164 (Stevo) - great vineyard shot - and I think you have found the thing that's been missing from mine - the right ground texture.
Would you mind telling me the ground texture/s you used to get this great effect.
Thanks
NickE

Thanks NickE, if you mean the texture under the vineyard it is 'spring-field 06', <kuid:149987:21595>...
The ground textures are a mix of firstsoloflight's and the 'pinehill' series on the DLS

QR CLONCURRY-PHOSPHATE HILL kuid:46489:100044 by Patchy

Just discovered this amazing (huge) outback railway by Patchy
It loads up pretty well and looks interesting :D
However I wondered if Patchy or other knowledgeable people would describe the type of trains that would run on such a map.

To be honest I cannot find any QR stock that I think would run. Is their suitable stock?
Is it loadable?

Thought I might start a thread here if anybody is interested in seeing this map work.

I envisage running it in three eras
Say 60's and 70's with blue QR stock and older ore wagons
Say 80's and 90's with Modern QR stock Stanless steel?
And then 2013 with new GE and EMD equipment such as Vinny's latest stuff

I guess the Inlander could pass by too? heading for the Isa? Maybe not
Anyway if Greg or Willem could update some / build some wagons and with Patch's permission, I can see this supporting 6 to 10 people in Multi player
that is if anybody is interested?
Cheers
Rod (comtrain)
Should we take this thread elsewhere? Ok :) http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?98198-QR-CLONCURRY-PHOSPHATE-HILL-Multi-Player&p=1104958#post1104958

Hi Stevo
I pass a small vineyard everyday I drive into Town. Today I looked at it again and saw it in a different light. No longer scenery, but actually healthy looking vines full of leaves and looking good.
The paddock is long and narrow, 500 m by 1500m, at a guess, the back end is on a hill and the front also, but not as high as the back. The middle is perhaps 15 m lower in a valley.
So most of the vines are exactly as you did them and as the vines are fed water and nutrients mixed in a large tank via plastic pipes to each plant, I can understand why.
The harvester appears to be an old one and looking at its design, probably straddles the vines, although I have never noticed it operating. I guess running hundreds of short rows across the paddock would make it harder to harvest by machine also.

looks good, type in derelict into the dls and you will get a few items you can use also go through alien3's stuff he has a few rust trucks that with weeds through them and around them would look good in a quiet corner of the farm.

Stevo - thank you for the texture information.
and all the points about the layout of a real vineyard have been very helpful too.
Cheers
