well i got the 49 class working in 2012 thanks to some help on the forum just need to get natvanders stations and gantrys working some how well heres a shot of a route i like which im going to extend

Alcoholic, I love that shot, so in this case I'll forgive all the grid squares I can see.:p

Quick question for NSW Rail Buffs: Did Goulburn have a stock siding(s)? I have a diagram for 1979, but can see no mention of any stockyard/sidings. There is a meat works, at Joppa Junction, and i know it was used to (re)marshal stock trains; I was just curious as to whether any such traffic originated from there?

I plan to use Goulburn as a basis for Yarranjerry, the starting point for my Narraburra Line, and was wondering if a stock siding or two was appropriate.

Also, how many stalls is/was the roundhouse there?

Matt, while I can't help you as to if there were stock unloading facilities or not, I would suspect there could have been, as there is a large stockyard directly opposite the "Up Yard" (also known as the "wheat yard", iirc).

Even if Goulburn didn't have one, if it feels good, put one in. My "Orange Hills" is based around the trackplan for present day Orange, and I've made some small changes to suit gameplay. That's the joy of 'basing around something' over 'replicating something'.

I do plan on putting stock facilities in, I was wondering how to do so, and was hoping 'reality' might aid in placement. Never mind, I'll work out something.

As for the roundhouse, had a look at the website you provided, and can see nothing about how large it was. I may just have to guesstimate, using Google Earth, unless someone else can provide an answer.

Welcome mate, :)

Though IMO they are worth the while to download. They are all different sets of trees, hence multiple download of packs. But I assure you they are worth the extra effort.

Sorry if I may have sounded snappy. I'm hanging out for those V sets and especially that catenary as much as the next bloke on this thread.

The Russian word there is the download button which takes you to Turbobit's website where the file is hosted, which is in English :) I think Pofig has made it quite straight forward to get his files even with the language barrier issues.

Hope that helps mate, I haven't had an issue navigating around Trainzup's site myself, and I don't speak a word of Russian or understand the written language. :)

More 'time wasted'. Comtrain, you got a PM heading your way, re 49 class, really, the 'fixes' weren't that hard to do, thankfully, so shouldn't take long to 'fix'. :)

"Overview" Of Doomben railway station and 'yards', located at the terminus of the QR Electric running area, on the Pinkebah branch (with rumour that NO trains run past Doomben anymore, and the fate of the 'line' beyond this point is extremely 'uncertain').

Has anybody got the 80 class working in TS12 it about the only missing bit of aussie kit that I am missing.

Most of natvanders stuff gets fixed when you hit the revert button

the single line from Marulan to Goulburn opened on 27 May 1869 (Forsyth, 2009). The railway station was also officially opened on 27 May 1869 with the Sydney Morning Herald reporting that the first train between Sydney and Goulburn departed Sydney at five minutes past eight in the morning and arrived in Goulburn at five minutes to four, travelling at a maximum speed of 35mph (Sydney Morning Herald quoted in Forsyth, 1989).

The original layout at Goulburn included a platform with horse and carriage docks at each end, with the platform located on the Up (west) side of the original loop. In 1883 an additional 42-metre long platform was erected for the opening of the Bombala line in the following year (Forsyth, 1989; Cottee, 2004).

The tender for construction of the station building was awarded to a Mr. J. Taylor on 7 May 1868 (Forsyth, 1989). The main regional centres of NSW received significant structures adorned with special features to signify the importance of the town. William Mason, Engineer for Existing Lines, was primarily responsible for designing these fine structures in classic Victorian Italianate style, commencing with Goulburn, then Newcastle and Maitland (Cottee, 2004).

Other early or original structures at Goulburn included the goods shed (1868), the carriage shed (1869), engine shed (1869), a coal stage, water pump, 15.2m turntable, and the Station Master’s residence (1870) (Forsyth, 1989).

In 1884 a refreshment room was added to the main station building, and the station building was extended in c1900 to include a larger parcels office and a large attached men’s toilet block wing. In 1901 a new awning was constructed to span the length of the refreshment room, original station building, and new parcels office extension. In 1915 a new brick island platform was constructed, and an additional station building and refreshment room building provided.

Other early additions and changes to the railway precinct at Goulburn included the construction of a Gatekeeper's residence at the Mundy Street crossing in 1877, the addition of a Per way Inspector’s office and two water tanks and the demolition of the brick carriage shed (in 1884), erection of a 20-tonnne cart weighbridge (1892), construction of footbridges (in 1894 and 1899), and the conversion of the former police barracks for use as office accommodation (1912). Many other additions and changes were made to the station building and yard in the 20th century, including the construction of a roundhouse in 1918 (Forsyth, 1989).


It is more of a rail workshops than agricultural. Goulburn abbatoir and stockyard are at the asouthern end of town well removed from the railway. As far as I know it has always been that way.
