Australian screenshots

Just uploaded this to the DLS:

~snipped~
A three-board yard branchline junction yard. Features loco depot; carriage sidings; stock yard and flour mill. With minimal texture and building placement, it's designed purely as a starting point for a new route.

Hopefully someone can find a use for it.

Approved, and available within 6 hours: NSW Patterson.Cheers,

Matt.

Downside, with N3V's awesome idea to strip any/all content from TRS2012, apart from the built-in routes/dependencies they require, is that I've had to add in the .JA files from 2010 to get access to half the content I like to use, so yeah, if these are released, then unless an end user has done such (copied the .ja files to their 2012 folder), they'll have a ton of missing content - I *am* seeing 'built in' content from 2010 'appearing' on the DLS, so maybe, just maybe, it won't be such a hassle, as it stands, things I love about TRS2012 - the new 'more realistic' Australian Gum trees (as demonstrated in my shots), thats IT - to me, TRS2012 is just a pretty showcase for the 'inbuilt' routes, and thats all, so I'm still feeling very frustrated with it, but I'll do my best to 'give it a chance'.

Hi Mules :)

Long time to speak! :)

For the old built-in assets, these were removed from TS12 due to the size (they would have required us to add another 1-2 DVD's! And would have doubled the digital download size... Something we didn't feel was a good thing). It's also something that has been requested for many years...

As part of this, we are working to place all of the built-in (apart from the TS2010 'native'/'new' routes) onto the DLS. Please see the post here for further information on this: http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?t=71928

Doesn't change how I feel about TRS2012, the bad outweight the good presently, (chuckles weakly), but thank you for your clarification there Zec, its gratefully recieved, so we don't end up with pointless rumours and speculation - there's enough already in enough threads....

Loss of 'compatability' mode, well, I for one am still 50/50 on this, but I confess, the new 'trees' are wonderful, not the massively oversized creations they were, and may just be the ticket, to get me really back into route design, but don't hold your breath.

G'day!

Trent, somehow I wonder how you've got the patience to build 135KM of track, I can only build five k's before I get frustrated and build on something else, then repeat step one... :hehe:

Cheers! :)

5k's? I'm lucky to get down 1!

Mind you, Trent did allude to some kind of plan on graph paper, so that probably helps.:p

@Muliebuck, been a while between drinks (figuratively speaking of course:p.) Nice to see your screens grace this forum again.

@ Jake - Yes mate as Matt has said, I have my fictional route planed out on graph paper which keeps me moving along. I work on different things each time I get on Trainz, Sometimes its landscaping, track laying, placing eye candy bits and pieces. I find mixing it up help with the boredom at times when have done alot of one type of thing in Surveyor.

But all in all, I am addicted to Surveyor a lot. I love tinkering and seeing what comes of it. I am really enjoying this routes construction so much I have times where I can not wait to get home from work to add in something I have thought up.

Will have some more screenshots up later this week, been working 12 hour days and haven't been on Trainz as much this week :(

Oh and have to change my Sig again, I am on 139K's now LOL

Cheers

Trent

There is still a ton of old/legacy content included in TS12 that one can't envisage users putting into their routes.... I'm talking scenery objects, track/bridges, splines and loco/rolling stock dependencies (that don't actually have the old dependent loco/stock :o ).

When I see the Australian Dusty, 1 Track Wood and then Aggregate track from Trainz 1.3... at the expense of Natvander awesome TRS stations... that makes me a bit filthy.

To end on a positive... nice work all. Good to see you posting again Mulie.

I'm after some texturing concepts, for this new little project, inspired by a Trainzer, who shall remain anonymous, but gave me the ideas....

Backofere - a little fictional 'something' I worked up from one of Rastis' older routes, he freely allowed others to alter and upload, provided we gave credit, so fair credit where it's due, Rastis done a good job, and I just 'customised' it rather extensively, to suit a little modular railway, set loosely in far western NSW.
