EDIT: anyone know anything intresting I can put in a museum of some sort?

Learning well grasshopper...

Steve,
It may be your first time posting shots but it seems you have been watching and learning for a while. Very well done. Could see that as any little country town south of the border. Keep up the good work and shots
Regards
Glen

What can I say, I learnt and was inpired by observing the best :) I am flattered but you are mistaken in one point, This is not my first route nor my fisrt time at posting shots, though it is the first one I have received lots of possitive feedback and is the first I have come anywhere near finishing...

I shall of course respect your wishes and keep 'em coming :D

Vinnybarb - The CLPs run perfect for me, no errors in TS09. No problems with bogies either, everything is great. Thanks!:D
Steve - You could put a flour mill or something in there, for the grain trains to discharge wheat there? Maybe you could put another factory of some description. Maybe an Arnotts biscount factory, a use for Pete's awesome ABVs?
Thanks,
Mitch

I was thinking of a flight museum. I would have a wheat silo but I don't really want to add/modify more track... A foctory is a good idea, maybe a dairy factory as it is a cattle town... shall look into it...

G'day usaoz89,

The cows are on the DLS under Cows 'fresian', 'shorthorn' and 'Jersey'....The Loco is SRV R711 made by (or at least skinned by) Zec (s301) dunno if its on the DLS though...I may look into your suggestion but in the mean time...

Hi stevo, Which track are you using? looks good. :D

Cheers

Jason

I agree, looks great, but I'm a fan of old, run down and almost forgotten railway lines :)

No reflection on yourself, i trust?:p

Sorry.

, loving the shots. Sounds like perseverance has finally paid off for you, eh? In any case, the bar has been raised ever so slightly.:p

Keep it up.:D

Matt.

Thanks guys:D The track is CHN wooden track witch is built into 2010 or on the DLS...Matt are you saying I've raised the bar of route building? Surly not... I rekon the bar has been set too high for my standerds...

Mattm, ah, you're witty, you know that? - yes, I confess, I'm nearly the wrong side of the tracks in years, but hey, old, rundown and forgotten lines have history.

Steveo, you haven't raised the bar, you've shattered it - the more I look at your route, the more impressed I am with it, and got to commend you, just one thing, when you take screenshots, press ALT+O to 'hide' the spline circles, to give a much clearer picture.

Forestrunner, still hanging on waiting for your incredible route to finally appear on the DLS, its been torture :)

Have you thought about replacing one of the two Kmarts with a grocery store or a KFC which I know is available as it is on the Cleveland route?

If steam era then a local coal fired power station on that space for rent?

If modern era then maybe a water recycling plant [aka poo farm!] or dairy factory on that space for rent? A couple of towns with a dairy plant in a similar location to the town, come to mind.

Cheers

Your industry may suggest a name eg Cedar Grove, Orange Grove, Jerseyvale, Cottonvale, Gum Flat etc

You need to define a local industry for a clue to the name of the town. What does that railway transport? That will give a clue for a name.

Any geographic landmarks nearby? Several towns are named after local geographic features eg "The Rock" near Wagga Wagga.

Northgate in Brisbane was named after the fact it was the gate or junction of the start of the north coast rail line. Westgate near Charleville came from a similar notion as it was the gate/junction for the Quilpie line from the Cunnamulla line.

Pick a personal hero as the early Australian explorers did that eg the Victorian capital was named after William Lamb, 2nd Viscount Melbourne. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melbourne

Spencer Gulf in South Australia was named Spencer's Gulph by explorer Matthew Flinders in 1802 after George John Spencer, the 2nd Earl Spencer, an ancestor of Diana, Princess of Wales.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spencer_Gulf

Brisbane and its river was the name of the NSW governor at the time. Lots of places were named after the local explorer, premier, governor and prime minister etc

Pick your local hero, eg sport hero and the place is so named!

Cheers

Thanks everyone :) I never expected a reaction such as this for any of my creations... In fact, you guys have convinced me to release My module over the DLS :D

Petan, All space has been filled. In fact all I have to do is add a few metres of texture and add details such as people and more grass...

Thank you all so much, I shall be posting screenshots as soon as I've finished this session... Now, BACK TO TRAINSPOTTING! :hehe:
