Attention Vulcan: Helicopters

Hi Ian,

today I was surfing over the trainz zone site, and found your helicopters up for download. "Eh, why not? Helicopters would be a nice addition to the game," I said to myself, and with that, I downloaded it. Now here's my problem: The Helicopters work okay during the flight, but when I'm slowing down or accelerating the game freezes for 5 seconds. :( What can I do? Should I unistall them and download them from the DLS instead?

I have not seen that response (freezing) before, the helicopters are not high poly so should not effect the frame rate. I don't know what might cause that except an older computer perhaps, lots of scenery detail nearby, caching?

While initially some of my helicopter models were available on Trainzone, they are now all on the DLS. Perhaps you may get some ideas from the project pages on my website on how to get the best out of them.

My route only had the two helipads, 7 groups of people (built-in TRS2006), and the helicopters. I'll see your site.

EDIT: I found out nothing about the problem yet, but I did come across this item on your site:

Puma Helicopter Tilting Version
This model tilts into turns and has retractable undercarriage, based on the pantograph key. As you see it tilts nicely in exterior or cabin view.
The undercarriage does not automatically retract, this would be unrealistic. The undercarriage is a second pantograph attachment, and can be controlled in DCC by the Pantz command, kuid 66277:80004, to raise or lower it.
Using the command to raise it in AI has problems, it stops the helicopter, the AI lowers it again immediately, and then resumes flying.

I can't find this on the DLS. When I type in "Puma Helicopter", it brings me the Puma Interior & Engine spec.

EDIT #2: Ooopsy, I looked one more time in my game and found it. I wonder why I thought it wasn't there.

And assuming the problems you continue to encounter , and assuming the problems you have encountered in the past , and post about continually , and I am not really looking forward to the problems you will encounter and post about in the future , I hope your posting of simple one line , non productive post will no longer be encountered by the Forum members that are here to resolve and/or answer questions !
And your screenshots need to be reconsidered by yourself prior to posting . And your desire to be a leader in post counts is beginning to wear on several Forum members ---

Just my thoughts ---DLR
