Hi Rudder21,

You don't need to post it as an attachment. Open your config file in notepad, highlite the text you want to copy, press ctrl+c, open your post and press ctrl+v. It will paste in as below.

category-class "YM"
category-region-0 "AU"
category-era-0 "2000"
holdcarz 1
kuid <kuid:243294:505506>
kind "map"
username "Auburn2"
asset-filename "Auburn2"
workingscale 0
workingunits 1
water <kuid2:-1:-1:0>
description
trainz-build 2.4
world-origin {
latitude 27,28,-1
longitude 153,2.00043,1

}

It might not be formatted correctly but it will be readable.

Cheers,

Hi rudder21,

Sorry I'm a bit lost there, I know a little about configs but where to use a .bmp rather than a .tga is a bit beyond me. I think it has something to do with shadows or alfa images. I hope someone else comes along to help.

Cheers,
Bill69

The following paragraph from the TRS2006CCG:

"Textures should be .tga files (24 bit). An alpha channel may be used for opacity, within the .tga file (32 bit). Alternatively, a separate .bmp file (16 or bit) may be used for opacity. While .jpg files may be used, it is not recommended, as they are a compressed file format, and lose quality if repeatedly loaded and resaved. Trainz has to uncompress each .jpg file on loading, and this degrades performance. The .jpg file does not support an alpha channel."

In my own experience .bmp files work just fine, and I have yet to hear a convincing explaination as to why .tga files are preferable.

TGA files are now preferred (especially for TS2009 and up) as they can make use of texture compression, as well as have an in-built alpha channel. This gives a decent performance boost.

The kuid number isn't complete. That's probably why you're having problems.

Looks like you are trying to use TRS2009. One method is to find something error free of the right type then right click it in CM2 and use clone. That sort of sets up the config.txt file for you, you need to chaneg the names etc but all the kuid numbers etc are done for you.

Thanks John for your reply, your comment " looks like i am trying to use 2009 concerns me. " I do have 2006 should I be using that. I have fixed the Kuid Prob. still cannot get it to show up In the game. Is it fair to figure that because the files are generated when i export they are correct. ( I don't like to use asume ),

> trainz-build 2.9

means this asset will only work with TRS2009.

Want to zip up the entire thing and email it to me, jwhelan0112 gmail.com and I'll take a look.

Thanks John
