asset missing itself?

Am I going nuts? How can an asset report itself missing?
I had a missing dependency, the asset showed revision :13, a search on the dls found the latest revision was :12, so I downloaded it.
I changed the :13 to :12 in the config and saved.
Now the missing asset is the session itself!

You might want to post the KUIDs of both the session and the asset so we can help check.
I don't like this newer version stuff with 2019. It used to be that obsoleted stuff seemed to automagically update, now you have to individually check asset versions and download them one at a time. I have this one: <kuid2:122285:1012:1> AJS Terrain Spline 20x00 "Built-in, Newer version available". But version :2 lists as "unknown"! Well if version :2 is unknown, then why is it telling me it's available? Obviously it is NOT available, or it would be "available for dowload". So they shouldn't be telling me to update stuff that can't be updated fer cryin' out loud....
AND WOULD YOU PLEASE ADD AN OPTION TO UPDATE ALL INSTEAD OF HAVING TO QUEUE DOZENS OF INDIVIDUAL DOWNLOADS.

The method is "view asset versions" sort on status and highlight and download all "available for download" and then delete all obsolete and not built in. Helps if you save the filters for future reference.

every time I read a discussion like this, it reinforces my resolve to stay out of the 2019 minefield. I have the original and i use it occasionally, but subscriptions, various packages, pricing , DLC, sp2...... forget it ! Its just too complicated to bother with.
