Looks good, man.

A word to the wise though, splines destroy frame rates. Any kind of tree, car or house spline will no doubt spank the heck out of your FPS. So I'd use them wisely. Personally I'll make a small area, like a town or forest, and copy and paste it as needed. And you can rotate the pasted area to avoid too much repetition. Same effect as using a spline, but doesn't kill the FPS as much. Just something to consider. ;)

Ahh okay, thanks man! :) Will bear that is mind! By the way, when do you begin doing your textures? Shall I do them as i go along or shall I wait until the end? :o

Thank you!

TEXTURE TEST

Hello All,

I'm trying out some textures for the first time... after spending a lot of time on the scenery of the route I really don't want to mess it up with the textures... so PLEASE tell me what you think, because I really don't want this to go wrong... I'm looking at a lot of photos and aerial images to get this right, but definitely need a secondary opinion or two :/

Anyway here goes...

Thank you again. Please tell me what you think...

Been following this thread for a while. In my opinion your textures look fine. You're doing a good job and learning along the way. I'll keep peeking in once in a while.

Good stuff, I can't see anything wrong with your effort! I recommend grabbing all the FMA textures off the DLS, really good, and what i use for all my routes but maybe a bit green for you. Anyway keep up the good work.
Oh and out of curiosity what are your frame rates currently at?

Hi I am looking for any route builders with promise to join my team at TrainzPA, well I said enough and I think you would make a fine addition.
Would you like to.

I like to do them as I go along. I find it helps with good scenery continuity and keeps me motivated. Always remember to hold down the [ button when texturing so your textures blend better.

Your screenies look great!

Thank you! Glad you've been following the thread! :)

Yes. The texturing looks very nice.
:Y:

Thank you! :)

Anyway keep up the good work.

I'll try my best :hehe: Erm, well my computer isn't amazing :/ so only about 20 in the heavy sceneried areas... I think its worth it though :D

Thank you!

Erm, I'll think about it, could you personal message me what my job would entail? :)

Thank you!

Ahh okay, I'll do that from now on... thank you! :)

Wow! For someone who has done his terrain by hand, you've put a few DEM-based routes to shame, that's for sure. The texturing is none too shabby, either.

Overall, a very nice effect.

Matt.

Haha :) thanks, I feel more involved if I'm making absolutely everything on this route! :D

Thank you for the kind words!

Texture Screenshots!

Been quite quiet on the screenshot front of things lately, anyway, here's why. After the successful texture test I decided to texture everything so far... so here's what she's looking like now :D Please comment!!
