. Where do I find it?
. Where do I find it? . Yes, that did it. Thanks amigacooke, much appreciated.
. Yes, that did it. Thanks amigacooke, much appreciated. As I was saying, it seems like you actually have to PURCHASE driver sessions in order to run trains. Utterly ridiculous and TOTALLY unfair. Please correct me if I'm wrong here.
Would really like to play this sim, keeps crashing just after start up, emailed producer but no response, is there a patch?
Status: user of TS2Mac with all in app pay ware purchase. I am a railfan, we call it in Germany „Pufferküsser“, a man who kisses the buffers. To be honest: I replaced my mac mini for a high-end imac to be able to use a good train simulator with no limitations. I supported Trainz new era over kickstarter (senior engineer mac) and I want to operate it fluently on my device. Trainz Simulator 2 is operating fluantly in full screen mode on highend imac with some minor problems with all the video settings maximised.
ok, lets not beat around the bush, TS2 for OSX is the best (if not the only with exception of "Trainz for Mac") railroad simulator for mac on the market. But it is expensive and faulty. The very highlights are the pay-ware: Murchison and the Classic Cabon City routes, the schnabel-cars for hostlers, but you have no documentation like on the PC for this routes or other content. The best locomotives (steam and diesel) are pay ware (in app purchases), ok, there is a new in app highlight: the „N&W Y6B“ that can compete with the „UP Big Boy“. The only engine with an state of the art cab (the EMD SD70MAC) is an in app purchase. And to top it, for every repaint you pay the full price. Non of the in app purchases has a documentation. To be honest: To work with this Simulator in its fully extent you have to pay many bucks…
You have another problem: If you wish to support payware users with sessions via the DLS, you can’t do it, because every upload of a session generates a crosscheck with the content of the download station (DLS) and sure: The pay ware is not downloadable there.
You can not transfer any of the old content of Trainz for mac to this version without any complicated walk around. If you take the walk around, ending a driver or a surveyor session will cause a crash of the simulator.
Some of the built in sessions are faulty. There is missing content like the „Cass Railroad Shay #5“ in the „IntenCity TS12“-Route. The described download links are not operational. If you download it after a long search in forums.auran.com via yukonzoom3dcreations.yolasite… the in cab views are faulty, the cab ist twisted 90 degrees. You are not able to start your consist in some sessions (Russian Railway).
Ok: I started with Train Simulator of Microsoft. Since they broke this simulator (not developing it further) I had to switch. One of my favourite routes was "Marias Pass" (not to mention "Kicking horse pass" in Canada). The only version of "Marias Pass" in TS2 for Mac is "Rocky Mountains Montana Track" whitch I recommend highly. But it doesn't work with basic TS2MAC. After I purchased Murchison, the rails were visible. Why???
There are many things left to do. No 5 stars out of 5. I supported Trainz new era, but it would be a horror, if I would not be able to transfer my (bought) content to this version.
I post my opinion here and not on the mac app-store because I hope, that only Trainz insiders will read it. I wish Trainz for Mac a great future!!!
PS @ Guillams Yves: Your "Rocky Mountains Montana Track" is a true highlight for TS2MAC but the rails do only show with the "Murchison"-payware installed. I built a session to demonstrate, why the "GM-Aerotrain" sucks (see wikipedia article "aerotrain") and was only built 3 times by GM. The aerotrain nearly stalls at your track. This session is not uploadable because of the use of payware content.
This product isn't very impressive! It cost me £24. The 6Gb download expanded to 28Gb on disk. After using it for about two weeks, it started crashing. It also freezes my whole computer (a Macbook Air) which started giving the message that the startup disk was full; then everything else started crashing (firefox etc ...). I end up having to reboot the computer to get things going again, which only works on safe boot. Now Youtube and iPlayer don't work. I still have something like 70Gb of space on disk, but the machine acts like it has a full disk. The product now always crashes when I try to start it.
What can I do?
It works on OS 10.9 as well. I had to download twice because on the first attempt the packet was corrupted - no wonder, it had to go around half the Globe. A pity that the old contents that came with the original version are not available. Not even when you re-download it, as I had to find out with the Northbay County. Both the 2' and the 3' tracks are faulty. And who wants to ride the trains on dashed lines? The new version with support for 10.7 is now available from the Mac Store. We have also released Cabon City and Murchison 2 DLC packs and Settle & Carlisle is still getting some final difficult-to-repro-bugs sorted out.
Perhaps because it's not reproducible behaviour?Over a month and still no response from N3V over why TS:Mac performs better on the same route with the graphics settings.
I will not be buying T:ANE.
