I wish that those who post content would be bound by Auran to do 2(two)things.
Please! Please! Indicte Era, Region (country) so that us poor slobs that are trying to put together a railroad have the RIGHT equipment, etc. for said railway & country.
PLEEEEEEEEEASE!!!!!!

One of the kool-things about Auran Trainz is that the built-in content may not originate from where you think...

That's the penalty for ethnocentric thinking...we naturally avoid content by it's given name not realizing we have been in some cases addicted to using content created by others in nations we have no chance of ever visiting & discover that content has been used in other places for (hundreds) of years..

Nothing can force people to do what there supposed to do except the willingness to cooperate with a given set of simple instructions.

We have kind-kuid structures & naming conventions, still folks will submit content with a prefix initials to find their content easier.

In my town, the Cookeville Depot Museum, now listed on the National Register of Historic Places, when built by the Tennessee Central back in 1909 utilized Japanese architecture...(says "Type of Architecture = not listed").

You're right, Backyard. There is nothing more difficult than trying to get two or more people to cooperate to accomplish a common goal. E.g., we now have a whole section of this forum devoted to the DLS and all of its quirks and foibles, yet we still have the quotidian ration of "can't download" complaints scattered throughout. It can be frustrating, but it is always interesting.

It's been my experience that railroad related content spans many eras and many areas of the world. The content that is made that is not specifically related to railroads, such as houses, can also be used across a wide span of time and locations. I am certain that on my way home today, I will encounter Toyotas, Minis and VWs of varying ages on an American road.

You have to be careful, some posters are new users, some are young people communicating on a level of life experiences way beyond theirs.

My era thing currently is that some of our Content Creators specify an era prior to the existence of the asset!

This usually goes on down to the asset kind as being a "paintshed skin." I wonder if CCP does this or did the dude actually pic something other than what was provided for the asset(?).

It's understandable to me the omission of eras for assets that have been around for fifty years...

My retort? I simply add MX to their origin list...:hehe: ...I have no idea what that means...

The Content Creators Guide clearly spells out what to put & where it goes...nobody regularly creates anything without eventually using the CCG, so they were warned...
