applegathc's work

@applegathC nice job on your route(s) I envy you with so much flat land, alot eassier than my mountains in the west.
What 3D tree you used in #198 looks a good one! nice compositions you make.
Have a nice sunday.

JR's splendid new ex-SP Dash9's were part of a purchase splurge today.

Here, UP 9600 leads train CP #4-250 east out of Julianna.

Run little DME run...

CP train #533-021, a beer train headed for Garland Plains ethanol loadout, cruises westbound through the rolling fields ahead of an approaching strong rotation cell.

Decided to head up to shoot the CN Gilman Sub in Deer Forest in the early to mid-morning.
The former WC Gilman Subdivision carries CN and UP trains south from Gilman yard to
the City Belt, Midway Yard and other connections. The UP Gilman - San Gabriel
vehicle train can be seen here, a few miles out of it's origin, loaded with Chryslers.

top)
CN A443 heads north with a short wayfreight for Meskaugee with a CN GEVO
and an SD75I. A443 will lift about 5000ft out of Gilman Yard

mid) In a rare daylight move, a transfer from Gilman to Midway heads south with retro power.
This interchange traffic acquired from the CN will help build CSX train Q397 to Wilkesburg.

bottom) Right on schedule, the UP AGLSGL cruises thru Deer Forest, starting at the very
top of the City Belt corridor. The San Gabriel will use the Belt from top to bottom all the way
to Dupage Jct. where it will find access to the UP Toulson line.

About five miles south of Deer Forest is the North Harlem/Harrison neighbourhood of Central City,
in which the CN Gilman Sub splits at a fork in the road. The east track continues south as the
Gilman Sub to Kensington Jct at BN crossing, while the west track becomes Main 3 on the Belt
corridor. Crossing the CN at grade is the RailNet Garnet Sub, that originates in Kinzey Park on the UP.
Harrison tower protects the diamond which only sees a handful of movements per day from
CN, UP, RailNet and whatever else receives permission to use the Gilman as a shortcut.

top) RailNet's 'north local' clatters the diamond before entering the City Belt to work the costumers near
UP North Harlem Yard.

bottom) CN M342 with choice power heads south for Midway on the single track main.

Top) A UP/CSX joint intermodal for west side terminal charges northbound under the
BNSF on the B&O belt with two burly GE widecabs doing the honours.

Mid, Bottom) An oil train off the BNSF heads down the CSX with NS, BNSF power.
