Anything I need to do about this virus blocked warning?

I'll try here instead, as I wasn't getting help. It also happens with either IE or Firefox.

What do I need to do with about this?
Trend Micro Internet Security
Network Virus Blocked
TMIS stopped a network virus from attacking your computer.
Virus info (with link to AV site)
Action taken was virus blocked

It comes up every 10 minutes or so, and started after I visited a transport report that some university professor or doctor wrote.

When I click on the information, it takes me this page here: http://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/vir...8-067_SERVER_SERVICE_REMOTE_EXECUTION_EXPLOIT

there is a virus in your system. Trend is stopping it as much as it can.
you need to get it fixed

Well, it may not be a virus exactly. I trust you have done a complete virus scan of your system. The "every 10 minutes" thing makes me suspect it is probably some type of pop up, or ad ware that is trying to open a window., Each time it is squashed by Trend, but it has not been removed.:(

agree with Euphod. Have you tried system restore to a date before your problem started. Are your windows updates up to date. Have a look in ad/remove programs in the control panel, see if there is anything you dont recognise. If so try to remove it, only if you are sure you dont need it.

You are using a user or limited account to browse the internet aren't you? This prevents many problems, Firefox 3.0 with noscript is useful as well.

You have spyware.....

You have unwittingly downloaded spyware.:'( I suggest downloading spybot which is a free spyware removal program to clean this mess up. :o

The only way recommended by Microsoft security to clean a system is to reinstall the operating system.

Having said that if you aren't running Microsoft updates on automatic do so as there is a Malware clean up tool that runs in the background that will clean out some malware. It's worth a try.

I have had 3 similiar cases of this. However it gave me a virus,it then in turn hijacked my IE. The second time it did the same, and I was able to git rid of them with simple virus/adware/spyware scan. However the big 3rd time totally infected my computer, and completely hijacked it,and took over every single virus scanner I had,and told it to report that it found a virus. That happened every 10 minutes or so. Then it mutated to a virus that hijacked IE and firefox, keeping me from any sort of virus site, and replaced it with there own site, for free virus removel. Then the last step is that it installed it's own fake virus protection system, that would fool any,not so computer savvy person. It had the same exact Icon as windows would when there was an issue with a setting. Then the last final step is that it ate my control panel, keeping me from changes any settings, and being able to restore the computer, even though that wouldn't help. The computer tech that I had help me get rid of it said this is one of the hardest viruses to get rid of,and it took him 2 tries to get rid of it fully,of course the 2nd was free of charge because the problem was never solved...
So I would recomend trying a full virus scan, and try and get to any sort of windows/microsoft site. Then do a full virus scan, using your own things on your computer, then if you can access any windows/microsoft site, download malicous software removal tool, and run it. If that still doesn't work, you will need a high end virus scanner,or you will have to lug the maching to the nearest reputable computer technician...:(

Run a full anti-virus scan on all hard disks. That should tell you what's causing it and offer to get rid of it.

If not, repeat with an anti-spyware scan.

If that doesn't kill it, run an anti-rootkit program.

If it's still not zapped, then it's something more serious and may need specialist attention.

Lavasoft Adaware is another great program for getting rid of spyware; it is free as well (they do have a payware version as well)

Found out it was a virus - that includes ME getting a cold!
Who ever gave both of us a virus, I would like to. . . (insert very angry smiley)

And Anti-virus didn't fix it up at first.

I'm going to be quite slow for a while - & yes I do know why.
But due to being very very slow, can someone direct me to the page/thread that has the Trainz related links please.

PS: I'm not angry, I'M FUMING!
