I'd say twitter is mainly for celebrities; most people use it to catch up on the latest 'goss'* relating to celebrites and other famous people who get slated for even the tinest wrong.

Twitter is for bored people. What is the point in it?

* 'goss' is slang for gossip.

I have twitter (under pressure) purely to send out announcements without using email. A post in twitter (a tweet) is passed to all that subscribe (or follow) my twitter paulztrainz
