Any upgrade path to the latest version?

I haven't been able to use Trainz 2019 but would like to in the future. Unlikely, but if there's a discount I'd upgrade. I hope to enjoy the hobby in the future.

Hence the question. Thank you.

N3V almost always has a Black Friday Sale. Most everything should be on sale with steep discounts for TRS19 and TRS19 Platinum.

@wreeder thank you. But what about an UPGRADE from TRS19 to the latest version? It doesn't have to be on sale.
No, N3V doesn't do upgrades except for offering occasional sales on newer versions. Most users just buy the new version and run it side by side with TRS19. Some users just buy and install a newer version of Trainz and then copy their local data folder to a new location and point the new version to that location. That gets all your routes and sessions into the new version and also any assets you installed into TRS19. But any DLC has to be re-downloaded from the Trainz Store into the new version. It would be nice if it had an automatic function to import all that stuff but as of now, you have to do it manually.

Thank you. My takeaway from your reply is that unless one is ready to use Trainz, then do not buy the current version. Instead, wait for when you actually use it. And, that is why I'm not buying Trainz 2022 because I don't know when I'll have the time to devote time to Trainz. Had I known that there are no updates, I wouldn't have bought TRS19.

Then again, whatever you create in TRS19 when you have time can be imported into future versions and as wreeder says, they can coexist on the same hard drive. Many of us have older versions installed for various reasons such as testing, and importing old content from archives and older routes that can't be brought directly into the current version for one reason or another.
