Any possible way to redownload trs2006?

Well I have found all of my game disk's. But my 2nd CD has a big crack in it, thus rendering it unusable. I legally purchased trainz 2006 and my serial key is registered and everything. Any possible way that I can redownload the game (or that disk for this matter) without having to buy a whole new copy?

Hi string,

I had the same problem with mine recently. A quick e-mail to the disc maker/supplier solved the problem for me,they sent a new disc within a couple of days.

Otherwise take a look on e-bay, you can pick 2nd hand copies up quite cheaply and because you are already registered with an original copy there wont be any problems if the previous owner has registered the copy that you buy

well actually I have another computer that has trs2006 installed. It doesnt start up but all i need is the data from disk number 2. Is it possible to find what data that was and copy it over?

Take the hard drive out and put it in the one that works.

I thought about that suggestion myself but that wont work because all that it will take to the new computer is the game data. The new computer wont have the installed registry entries and without working discs its not possible to do a new install

Well actually i just copied everything. And I semi got it to work. The only problem is when I start it up, i get this error picture (thats not actually my picture, but this pic is the same error):

edit: Is it possible for someone to upload their Kernel_7c.dll file so I can try it out...seeing as thats what the error is related to.

Or should I just give up and get a new copy or something.

Cant help with that 1, but can you access the trainz local folder off the old h/drive. Copy it to desktop then you've got all your content from last time.

I'm certain I've done it. Upgraded my comp, cpu, graphics, mobo etc. Old h/d (pata) in and transfered to new h/d (sata). I allways have trainz installed in a partition of its own. So the whole lot gets transfered in theory. The only thing to do is to send a new shortcut to the desktop and delete the old.

Damaged trainz installation ?

As I understand well, you copied everything from your old disc to a new (bigger) one to get everything of your old installation on your new disc.
This should mean that your old disc with a working trainz is still available
I hope/expect you' ve put Trainz on a separate partition.
Can't you mount that disk in a free slot on your new computer?
Your PC should recognize that disk as a new discs e and f or any other number
f this is is correct you should be able to identify the trainz disc (partiton) on that drive and should give it a go. Since there are no registration entree's made it should work as usual.
( I've swapped discs on this way onto different PC's without trouble.)
hope this will help you.

Unfortunately, Trainz does create some registry entries during installation (all installers do, to allow it to be removed at a later point) - it may also need to create a registry entry on first run as well (the Trainz URL Registry Key). I've found that simply copying it sometimes results in Fatal Errors on launch.

You may do better (if you can) to accquire a Trainz installation disc (make sure you get the right type - CD/DVD) and use your serial number that came with your copy (don't use their serial number otherwise it will prevent CMP from working correctly).

Some editions of Trainz require the disc to be inserted when loading the game (mine has that requirement)
