how to get maximum anti alising bcz i have set my anti alising to 4 but in game the pics are not much anti alised as they should be.i saw many good pics and contact the auther about their gpu but all of them got smaller gpu then mine but they are getting beeter anti alising then me
is it posible to get more then 4 anti alising?
do it also depends on resolution bcz i am playing on 1280x1024

What is the setting in your vid card, and is the card set to over-ride application settings (for Trainz it probably shouldn't be). AA x4 is plenty in Trainz.

Could you possibly show us a screenshot of what you're seeing? Perhaps you're actually seeing some other problem, rather than a lack of anti-aliasing?

thanks,

chris

what i want to say that my shots arent as clear and sharp and crispy like many others.i asked about their gpu-s and all of the people have weaker gpu then mine

Perhaps they are sharpening their screenshots with an image program, or using different content to compose their shots. As Chris has said, a screenshot would be helpful.

well here is the screenshot from lublin route by zeiba
you can see his screenshots which are sharp and crisp and i have better graphics card then him but mine shots are not good enough also if u can zoom little bit you can see the grills on locomotive are very blur .when i was driving nd if i zoom out lil bit the various parts are blur .also there are many other autors like drickkets and simon .mine gpu is also better then both of them but my shots are not as clear and sharp like they have

It's not the GPU, more likely it's the monitor resolution which being low will give poorer quality images, you may also have it on the wrong refresh rate. Is it wide screen or normal, what is the screen size, native resolution of the monitor and it's maximum refresh? Mine looks rubbish in anything lower than the native resolution of 1440 x 900.
Also if that resolution is the native one, then you need a 5:4 aspect ratio, may be set on 4:3 in Trainz options, suggest if it is, change to automatic. 4:3 will distort the image slightly on a 5:4 screen.

If this is an LCD, then use the native resolution and set Trainz to run at the same resolution.
For CRTs, ensure that Trainz is running at the same resolution that you set your desktop resolution to.

You might want to check anisitrophic settings which are different than anti-alias settings. This setting will affect thin items such as wires grills, etc. You may need to increase the setting to obtain the desired effect that you want, but can pay the price of lower performance.

For a 15" LCD, 1280 x 1024 is probably correct. I've seen that before.

Woa - zieba takes a brilliant screenshot, but lots of his shots are close in centered on a loco which is being drawn at a high LOD, your shot is way back and the loco is at it's lowest LOD, you simply cannot compare the results meaningfully and the difference has nothing to do with settings. Zieba's long shots look to be shopped for sharpness - no offence intended, all my long shots are shopped. They pretty much have to be.

LOD means Level Of Detail. High poly assets like locomotives have as many as 5 different levels of detail. Close-up where the only thing in the picture is the loco it draws at very high detail. As the camera draws farther back the detail on the loco reduces to free up computer resources to allow the background to be drawn. The sort of detail that drops out is exactly things like the detail on grills which you mention. As far back as your shot is taken the loco is at LOD 4 or 5, zieba's shots are (mostly) at higher LOD. The results cannot be compared.

Speedtrees also have LOD and there is nothing in your shot being drawn at LOD0 except maybe the shrub front left, everything else is reduced.

You can't take a shot from way back and expect it to compare remotely for 'sharpness' with a close-up. If you want 'sharp' you need to get in close...
