Does anybody know how the height actually works? IE if I use the plateau tool & raise the height to 1, what is the height of the plateau above standard 0 height? Is there a way I can work it out?

thanks

The plateau tool adjusts the ground height towards the plateau setting. It does this at a rate determined by the sensitivity setting. If you leave the tool there long enough the ground height will get to the plateau height. So the result in your case will be a ground height somewhere between the original height and 1m, and ending up at 1m. That is an absolute height above 0. You can test the height of the ground with the Get height ('G') tool.

The Plateau tool averages the height around it, whilst the use height tool sets the terrain height to the value in the box next to it. You can use the get height tool to pick this value from existing terrain, or you can type into the box.
The height is measured in metres.

Just out of curiosity - why then is at that spline heights do not seem to follow the same logic? If you use the get height tool for a spline, it generally seems to show a different height than that measuring the terrain around.. no doubt a simple explanation but I have never discovered what it is..

what it might be is that the track doesn't totally sit on the floor so maybe it measures the top of the track not the ground underneath? :o

thanks guys
