annoying lighting issue

Heys folks....have a route I started with '06, imported with no problems into '10, but the last couple of times I have gone into the route (in Surveyor), there is now a constant and irritating flash of light on my horizon.

The flash occurs every five seconds or so, almost like a distant flash of sheet lightning; it doesn't matter what time of day or night it is, nor does it seem to matter which sky/cloud pattern I have chosen.

Anyone know where this oddity came from and what can be done to remove it?

Hi Will Pac

Three things I might try.

1. Check that the weather Control dial is top dead centre

2. Switch between Open GL & Direct X

3. Log out of Trainz and reboot PC

I suspect there is probably a more technical solution though!

For some reason, this sounds somwhat familiar to me from ages ago in Trainz. ;) I might have to check around in the Trainz Settings to see if something to fix it is hiding in there. :)

Regards.

Well, problem solved....sort of. When I first posted this, I said I was editing a route, but it was actually a SESSION. So yesterday, I opened up just the route, and there was no flashing light on the horizon.

So I went into the session (and yes, the flash was still there), and went through everything I had added to it, changing what I wanted to remain from session-layer to route-layer. Now I can just work on the route and save a new session when I am ready to do so.

Not sure what caused it, but I am strongly leaning toward something in the environmental settings. But at this point, I don't care. Just happy to be back to where I can work on this route without danger of triggering a seizure!
