AnnouncingTrainz™ Simulator 2009 & Trainz™ Simulator X

And where are his tracks ?

If they work with TRS-2006 and a German TRS-2007 version, I seem to remember seeing being offered somewhere, then I might get the latter to give me something to do while I am waiting for new versions of trains simulators to be released in 2009, having reached the limit of what I can do with RS.

Take care, O t t o.

P.S.: Ignore my PM, normal services seem to have been restored ! ;)

Ok Otto as far as I can work out from Andi's site they are all there, mostly released in 2007. I already had them loaded in my trs 2006, except I forgot to use them till your post reminded me :hehe: Click on Andi's website in his post and you will see a link in Junctions that takes you to the package which downloads the whole lot in one in 2006 anyway. I kept clicking and nothing happened... eh I already had them :(
Also download the 4 tutorials You must have them. The junctions do not install anything like I remember when I last used them.
Cheers

Thanks, Rod !

You can use them with the German version as well. The German 2007 version is "just" TRS2006+SP1 and some added custom content.

Thanks guys !

Now all I need is for AURAN to tell me how I can register in Planet Auran, my user name and e-mail address being on record already, so that I can use the download section, no longer having the registration numbers of all the Trainz versions I have purchased in the past and longer have.

Unless I can download Andi's tracks and manuals then there is no point in again buying TRS-2006 /2007 !

If you have registered previously your serial number will be in your profile.

No trace of a serial number in my User CP !

Registered years ago when I purchased the first copy of Trainz and not being able to access Planet Auran was caused by 2 passwords being registered for my User name. Reset one to match the other and no more problems !

Downloaded and printed your PDF manuals but the DLS Download link to the AJS Junction Kit, Version 5.1 results in "The web page can not be displayed" !

Also mentioned is that additional downloads of "Dependencies" are required.

Is there no download package which includes all that it required to use this kit, assets, dependencies and manuals ?

O t t o

P.S.: Having a quick look at the manuals, they seem to deal with putting down these points for the first time. Are there manuals for converting existing routes to your tracks and points ? I am more interested in doing that rather than creating new routes.

No, but everything is linked from my web site.

The same procedure applies. You might also find this thread helpful.

Previously registered serial numbers are nothing to do with the forum. They will be in your planet Auran profile, which is accessible via the profile button just under the trainz classics logo at the top of the forum screen.

Trying your web site's DLS download link for the JK 5.1 pack gets me this:
www.otto-wipfel.co.uk/pics/as-web-page-not-available.jpg

and doing a search for TRS-2006, andi06, tracks in the Download sections finds nothing.

I think I have used enough of your patience by now and shall wait for TRS-2009.

No point anyway learning how to do all that in TRS-2006 and then having to do it all over again if TRS-2009 still uses splined tracks at junctions and you kindly supply updated for it versions of your tracks !

Thanks Captain for the tip. Yes, one of my old registration numbers was listed in my Auran Planet profile !

Take a couple of deep breaths!! You are spinning out my friend.
I am no expert and I have every version of Trainz released. So when I check my tickets and serial numbers I have to scroll down :hehe:
But I have noticed that you need to have the editions all registered, to get into each download. Or maybe I should say that you can only access the version (s) you are registered for.
To get into trs2004 you need that serial number. 2006 serial allows you in there and TC serial number gets TC assetts.
Check which serial number you used. That might be a reason why you can't see the 2004 stuff?
Now as to why your serials are not listed. Did you register all serials when you opened the version of Trainz?
If so they are there at Auran. If you didn't then you need to go in and register them now. Serial numbers are on the manuals! If they don't show on your profile send an e-mail to Auran and ask why.
Did you change your user name at some time. Prove to Auran that you are the same person, and they should help you out.
If you purchased your copy second hand it is not transferable, and that will be why it wont work for you.
However a new serial number is as easy as buying a cheap copy of TRS2004 for $9.95 on E-Bay I guess?
Now take it easy,
Cheers
Rod ;)

Now take it easy.

Yes, I will, Rod. ;)

Having had a closer look at the PDFs decided to wait for TRS-2009.

If I have to learn all that then I might as well use of it in TRS-2009, if that still comes with splined junctions !

Take care, O t t o.

Any word on when system requirements for the new editions will be available?

I imagine that you would want a computer with specs which are suitable to get the best out of MS-FX and MS-TS-2. That should be at least a Core 2 Duo, 2Gb of DDR-2/3 RAM minimum and one of the then latest graphics cards ?

Yeah thats sounds good to me :D
I have that machine here in the Office now with 2.4Ghz chip, and it runs pretty well.
My new machine is sitting on the floor, though and it should really kick!!
I am really not sure what it has in it
but some of the labels are Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.40Ghz 8mb L2 cache 1066 Mhz FSB, Asus P5 GDC mobo, 4gig 6600Ram and 512 meg Radeon 1950 pro graphics.
Stuff is a little bit dated, but I can already see the difference after loading TC on it.
Should have time to set it up next weekend :p

Sounds like a good excuse to upgrade my PC, then. ;)

Yeah, how long does a computer last these days anyway. The old IBM pc's lasted for 20 years. I doubt if a HD would last 5 years these days.
I think it rather funny that people are already complaining about the size of machine that 2009 might need, in other threads. However sooner, rather than later, we are going to have to get rid of the old clunker and get new Technology. It is not Auran's fault that we cannot always afford to upgrade right then, each time.
But lets face it, those same people would be screaming if they bought a new machine and Auran were still dishing out software designed to deliver on a P3-800. :D
We got to remember its Auran's job to keep Trainz up to date. It's our job to keep our machine up to date. If circumstances are such, that we fall behind for a short time, so what, we still got TC or 2004 to pass the time till the new machine arrives.
Cheers
