An Idea I have. Comments Please

Hi all! I recently had an idea that I wanted your opinions on. I was thinking about the route I am building when I thought "How about I build layout plans for the community to download and build themselves?" It would give the end user something to do while I can use more time for homework. Please leave comments and suggestions about this idea. Also note that these plans would be detailed and most likely not to scale. Kinda like Model Railroader's Trackplan Database, except for trainz. Rude or nasty comments will not be tolerated. Thanks!

That actually sounds like a really good idea! You thinking of drawing out track plans on baseboards for this or just drawing them out regularly and allowing the end user to convert it from paper to baseboard?

I was going to draw it out on paper first, then either use paint or some other program to draw it up and then post it for download at Michigan Rail Industries. Any MWRR plans go to the MWRR site.
 
I LOVE this idea! :clap: I did it a few times with Model Railroad track plans on my old laptop, I really enjoyed drawing them out and making them on Trainz. :) But I never did release them on my website...:o
 
Um....kinda embarrassed to ask this, but what program should I use to create these route plans?? I don't think regular paint will cut it :'(

I think it is a good idea too, my problem is that I get sidetracked and bored so easily because there are so many other cool things going on in trainz that I never finish anything I start.
I think I suffer from concentrainzilitis .
 
You can use MS Paint to draw a route (instead of usng pencil and paper, which is easier).

I use MS Paint all the time, and making curved lines is easy.

Old laptop doesn't work, and when I say doesn't work...I mean IT DOESN'T WORK AT ALL...:hehe: That, and I can't find any of my drawings. Maybe later, as for I am drooling over my new Guitar Pedals. :udrool:

True, but also, if you don't have a printer that can do that, you can also take a camera, take a picture, put it on your computer, and go from there. :)
 
I actually had this idea to! Me and my dad would draw maps and I would make them in Trainz from a piece of paper!
