Yeah dome cars are one of my favorite. Right now though, I'm trying to assemble a late 1970s Silver Star and Silver Meteor since I have information for a typical consist for that train. Note that Amtrak consists then really varied, but these are the models I plan for it.

ex-ACL Baggage Cars
ex-SAL Baggage Dorms
ex-SAL 10-6 Sleepers
ex-PRR Sleeper-Lounge
ex-SAL Dining Cars
Mixture of Coaches, probably ex-ACL, ex-SAL, ex-UP, ex-PRR, and ex-ATSF
ex-PRR Parlor-Galley
ex-SAL Sun Lounge
ex-SAL 7-2 Sleepers
ex-NYC Slumbercoaches

Oh..and would need s couple of SDP40Fs, but that's a whole different department.

I baked that model and somewhat improved its detail, but left off working on it where I was. I'd be willing to share that if it was fine with the original creator (klinger).
See if you can get in contact with him, I would like to see a "newer" SDP40F in Trainz.

This just keeps getting better and better. I want these because they are in my Trains of the 1970's special edition. Are there any PC or CR 70's routes?

Ex-SAL 10-6 Sleeper:

60-70s are my favorite era of railroading if you haven't been able to tell by the various projects I've attempted. I've always found that the cars themselves can be just as interesting as the locomotives and the 60s-70s is sort of a transition for cars as the 40s-50s was for steam to diesel. Then you had some old 40' boxcars running next to some cars that are still on the rails today. Cabooses still prevalent and it's before the big mergers began so there is huge diversity out there. Not to mention with so many cash strapped lines running then you get some very interesting neglected cars to weather.

Also, and I hope this doesn't derail the thread, but let me show you how I spent my Friday afternoon:

Agreed, the 60-70s is my favorite era too for many of the same reasons as you. Also I need to stop visiting this thread, looking at your work makes me want these cars more and more everyday.

This is amazing! Looks like a some Amtrak F......something that was from the 70s and 80s and quite usable in the Mid-West to the eastern areas. It was also seen in Train Simulator 2015 as a recent add-on just released last month. But on the other hand, it's really nice to see old and vintage Amtrak coaches from the early, mid, and late 70s and 80s. Hope to also see the Superliner coaches in the near future, those were also made in the 70's (I think with their Phase II Livery) and refurbrished/modernized somehow in the 90s.

That's the previously discussed SDP40F. The TS2015 addon was a P30CH, which oddly enough, inspired me to work on this because, while the locomotive itself is very good, the associated rolling stock left something to be desired. They cut a lot of corners on it to say the least.
