Amtrak P40DC 823 Loco Not Obeying Yellow Signal and Alarm Buzzer

I'm running an Amtrak P40DC 823 loco <kuid:603458:100065> that I reskinned for a fictional passenger line. I've noticed something odd that I believe relates to how it functions in AI mode with a yellow signal. Everything is fine with the green lights but when it hits a yellow, it slows to half-speed (as it should) and then picks back up again to the maximum while emitting a buzzer-like alarm inside the cab. I've noticed what I assumed to be a cab signal display that has indicators for N, L, M and R. When running with a green signal. the "N" is lit and no alarm. When I pass the yellow, it changes to the "M" and the buzzer kicks in. So...

1) Is this indeed a cab signal, and, if do, what does the N, L, M, and R stand for? I am assuming "Normal," and "Restricted" for the N and R, but not sure about the others. Maybe M for Medium Approach?

2) Why would it speed up again after dropping to half speed (and not passing a green signal or having one in the next block)?

3) Why would the buzzer alarm come on immediately at the yellow signal, stay on even when the loco is at first at half speed and continue on even when stopped at a station within that block?

Thanks!

1. You have all three guesses correct. The 4 are normal, limited, medium, and restricted.

2. If there is enough distance to the next signal before the loco has to reduce speed for the next yellow or red, then I have seen all AI trains resume full speeds. I believe this is just how AI drives.

3. Don't know why the buzzer is constantly running like that. I have only heard a quick "chirp" when the aspects/cab signals change.

Thanks "maruffijd." I may go back and re-position my signals anyway, but I'm still curious why the buzz when it passes a yellow. Makes me think it's something in the loco asset itself.

I'm trying to revive this post...I'm still having the buzzer problem with locomotive described above. Once it passes anything but a green signal, it buzzes, even when passing a green again later. Is there any way to edit or modify the sound schemes for this locomotive?
