Altering the ambient lighting in trainz

I like to take my trains out on a midnight run, but even in darkness you can still see pretty much everything for miles around. Is there any way to alter the lighting so that nights are pitch black, and all you can see is what's in view of the headlights. I would love to take a mystery tour and not know where I'm going. I did this on my old comp in which nights were a lot darker (don't ask me why) and ended up at a station down the entirely wrong track from my intended destination it was really fun

Play with Gamma. It is possible to make everything quite dark. Problem is that in daylight you'll have to re-adjust.

I played with the Gamma in my graphics card settings and it helped very much thanks. Just kept it on the same setting during the day though because days are also a little too bright for my eyes
