Hello Citizens,
I am experiencing a lot of frustration with this application:
I purchased a retail copy of TS2010 EE back when it first came out, but it didn't last long on my computer (among other things, the "Speed Trees" [?] were implemented horribly and drove me mad). Last week I decided to give it (Trainz) another try; I installed my original copy (build 41491) and successfully patched it all the way up to build 49933 (took some time, but all went smoothly). The whole thing was kind of an experiment. I decided to uninstall the application and was unable to do so - I kept getting an "Out of memory" error. I sought help here and was told that this is a known issue; the solution is to DELETE the application and then run some application (CCleaner was reccommended) to fix the (Windows) registry. Seemed to me an unsatisfying solution, but I appreciated the help and I followed those suggestions. Deleted TS2010, downloaded/installed/ran CCleaner.
Then yesterday, I saw that the Aerotrain was offered at a sale price (< $5) - and I purchased it. Of course, this meant that I needed to re-install and patch TS2010 back up to build 49933 (call me crazy if you want).
I re-installed TS2010 and successfully patched build 41491 to build 41615. But now, when I attempt to patch build 41615 to build 42203, the patch runs for a while and then fails, telling me, "Unable to patch *.* (something) - file contents do not match."
Is it time to give up?
Thanks in any case,
cs
