AI Humpyard?

I have a question about using humpyards. Is it possible for a humpyard to work in"autopilot"? I like to build routes where I have AI trains do it all, just start up and watch them run. Example: is it possible for an AI train to appear from a portal, drop off its cars in the humpyard, then have another engine hook up and deliver the goods to my route industries, and vice versa??

Yes it's certainly can be done, it just depends how good you are at "scripting".
But don't ask me how it's done, cos I ain't got the foggiest.

I believe TPR has the parts to do such a thing already set up; just provide the yard. someone correct me on the group if I am wrong please.

Hump Yards

A sceario or script sounds like a really interesting idea. Hump Yards are easy to create, just make the lead in gradient slight and not so high. Also slight hump in the tail end track helps cars from running away out of the back end of the yard. Running a hump yard can be made easier if you change the surveyorfov=35 in the Trainzoptions file, to a larger number 45, or 135, max 185.

In a word, no. You can make a humpyard with retarders and all, but you have to control the process yourself. But I always thought that was where the fun came in.

a humptower can control the switches and make the cuts on the cars (one car at a time). i have issues with the retarders, so i just just a slight elevation at the end of the track and set handbrakes on the cars as they roll to the end of the track

New humpyard question

It seems from reading that a few people have had this problem. After reading the forums I am unclear on what I need to fix it. I am running TS2009. From what I read to change/edit humpyard settings I go to object and click on question mark then the humptower, I only get a blank box that says "Berns yard hump tower" this is in the UM E-W Humpyard. I get the same thing in Matlin HUmpyard revised. Does this not work in 2009? What am I doing wrong?
