After auto Patch, Game couldn't run, it

it stayed at this screen that wanted me to buy dlc, i clicked no for the dlc and it still wouldn't let me play. i have the downloaded version from xbox live games for windows. Game wasn't frozen, all menus worked except for 'start new game', lol. i'm gonna re-install it.

Probably wise.

The auto-patch system does not work reliably enough to be recommended.

It is better to make a note of the 5-digit build number at the bottom right of the Launcher screen, then post it here, as someone can then help you find the right manual patch for your version.

I usually recommend using a directory cleaner like CCleaner
(http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner) after uninstalling and before reinstalling.

i have build 46957, thanks 4 the quick replies, i love trainz12. i found the manual patch and will install it soon, i will let you know if it works. the re-install was good and i will patch soon.

A bit of advice regarding patching: it will appear to stop about half-way through. Do not cancel it unless it says Patching Aborted. It will take a few hours for the first patch and anything up to an hour or two for the second one.

actually the patch took less than 20mins for both, i have a pretty fast system that i just bought last week. DELL XPS 8300 desktop, i7 3.40ghz, 8gb ram, ATI/AMD Radeon 6870 1gb, 750gb 7200rpm HD. Anyways i guess my copy of T12 doesn't love the patches, i got the same problem again. Anyways running T12 at version 46957 for me was great with no crashes or problems. I don't understand why i am getting the dlc screen at startup, very weird problem.

Perhaps TS12 patches are small then.

If it's requesting that you buy DLC, I would contact the place you got it from and find out why. It may be related to the multiplayer feature though.

Guessing new PC Win7, Installed in program Files (x86)? in which case Trainz and patches need to be run as administrator otherwise things don't always work properly.

TS12 patches are hot fixes and very small.

The last patch is required if you purchased the Aerotrain DLC.

Am I missing on alot of Goodies if i don't patch Trainz12, i keep getting the same dlc screen everytime i start the sim. Everything in the menus works, except the START NEW GAME option. My copy runs great without the patches, very fast with all settings maxed out and no crash to desktops.

You will not be able to connect to most multiplayer games, as the builds need to match.

Can you provide a screenshot of the screen you are seeing? (You will need to host the image on somewhere like ImageShack, then post a link to the image here)

I'm thinking confusion here, adverts for the Aerotrain and FCT have just appeared on the Main screen in TS12 plus a note about a forthcoming forum upgrade. Thinking maybe an incorrect resolution problem and only seeing part of the screen, the bit with the DLC on it?

yes thats the screen i see, how do i fix it.

You will need to check the Options screen (click Options on the Launcher) and make sure Fullscreen is ticked, and that the resolution matches your screen resolution in Windows.
