After a re-install, routes can be run in Driver, but don't exist in Surveyor

I recently was forced to do a re-install of Trainz2006. Before I did, I copied the 'local' directory off the drive, and after the install I copied it back to its original location, trashed the assets file and fired up the app.

Much to my surprise, the route I've been working on for weeks was in Surveyor by name only, but nothing is on any of the tiles. However if I go into Driver the sessions/routes are there, and I can run my locomotives on them.

Multiple times of removing the assets file, reboots of the laptop, etc cannot bring the assets back to life in Surveyor. I found a forum post saying that the only way to rebuild the database on 2006 is to rebuild the assets file.

Is there any way I can get my assets to show back up in Surveyor? I'm at a loss, and have been working on this for hours. Thanks for any help provided.

delete the assets file in the main dir. then to to cache dir and delete the
\file called assets.bku, the run trainz this will rebuild the data base

Thanks for the reply, but I've done that at least 6 times today in one form or another. Sometimes I'd delete, reboot then launch. Other times I'd close the app, delete, and relaunch.

One would think that if the sessions showed up in Driver, the assets shown should be available in Surveyor. This has been a weekend of unexpected things, so this falls right in step.

Try importing your content using the file... import content instead of just plopping the local folder in and deleting the assets.bku and .tdx files.

This seems to help bring the content into the program better.
