Adding Trains - Filter Selection?

I find it really annoying when I'm looking for cool locomotives to add to my track and want to hear how various engines, etc sound, but I need to look thru a list of over 1000 items and they all have varying names so it takes forever to find them.
Is there anyway to filter the list by category?
If not, why has it not been added? Seems like something everyone would want.

Yup you can do that.

Press CTRL+SHIFT+F to bring up the Content Search Filter.
Click on the +
Scroll the list until you find Category.
Scroll the list on the right (it defaults to route), until you find locomotive.

If you want to get fancy, you can do a couple more things.

You see the space at the top of the search filter?

Put in a locomotive type, or road name in there.

Click on Save, and save your selection.

Click on the little down-facing arrow in the right corner of the Content Search filter to find your saved searches.

I do this a lot with content-creators so I can find their stuff quickly.

Ctrl+Shift+F doesn't do anything. I can't find any kind of content search filter.
To be clear, I'm talking about this screen:

Wrong Screen do as John suggested and use the search on the left, your results will then appear in the box on the right, the one in your screen shot, if locomotives then they will be listed in the Trains Tab.

Finally figured out why I couldn't find the content filter. It is available only when editing or creating a session.
What I really want is that functionality when I'm playing the game, since you can't drive the train or hear what it sounds like in this mode.

My 5 year old loves to play this game and always has specific locomotives in mind but never knows what they are called or how to describe it, he only knows the horn sounds this way and the engine sounds like this, so I have to go thru 100s of different locomotives, add them in and play the horn and bell of each one.
This takes forever since I have to search thru the entire list. If I could put the filter on while playing the game he could add them himself but without the filter he has no idea which ones are locomotives.
