Adding more products to Lumber Mill

I'm trying to add the excellent centerbeam loads to a cloned copy of the default lumber mill. I can change the default lumber stack to any one of the new products and it works fine. Ive added a new queue, added to kuid list,
product-kuid, attachment-points. I can't even get the new product to show up in the setup list , not mentioning working . What am I missing ??
I'm trying to learn a little about setting up or adding to industries but I'm not having much luck so far.

:(
Thanks

Hi,

You can change a product or swap a product to another as you have found out just by changing a few things in the config.txt file, but if you are trying to add another "new" product to an Industry then there is a lot more you have to do. Like change the script to add in the queue so it will work, add in more attachment points which involves making changes in gMax.

Hope that helps a little.

okay, I was wanting to add 3 or 4 more products, but just use one at a time ,or per session. That way I was thinking I could use the same APs because the other products would be zeroed out. I'll look at the script and see if I can understand the queue.

There a lot of detailed information about industry scripting in the User Activity Creation Guide (also called the API). In TRS2004 this document is installed into C:\Program Files\Auran\TRS2004\Scripts\docs\index.chm but I think you have to download it for other versions of Trainz.

User Activity Creation Guide v1.04 is significantly larger. I wonder where it can be downloaded from ? Anyway my first step is just to see if will recognize the new product, not worrying at this time where it will output, tigger or load.
I tried setting up the new queue just like the default lumber and not having much luck so far.

I've got the lumber mill producing the the new product, APs and all that. Have a goto in the command window and train goes there but does not load.
Checked cars all ok. Have trigger, output, and stringtable. My question can I use a existing depot to load a different product or do I have to make a new depot with new vertices, or can I use the same vertices in a new depot. I was hoping to use the old depot and vertices and just load the new product
in the same place as the default lumber. Im brand new at this and have no idea which way to go from here. Any input, ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

If you only want a single Product to be produced then maybe you should look at setting up an M.I.N (Mulitple Industry New) track next to the Lumber Mill so it 'looks like' the Lumber Mill is actually producing the Product and send your trains there for loading.

I do this all the time, using the M.I.N you can do pretty much anything you want.

Ok, I got it working. All I had to do was use the default lumber trigger to call the new product queue. And it loaded right up in the default lumber loading depot. Now I have to add 3 or 4 more lumber packs and Shane's excellent centerbeam cars can load directly at the lumber mill with out adding anything
more. Thanks for your help.
