It can be heard all over the route globally for every train that passes it, not just the train I am occupying at the time.
Ideally, it should be heard only when the train "you are on" in Driver passes it and be heard only with information for the train you are on.
The nice thing is that it always says "no defects". My Trainz axles never overheat.
The voice talks even in free-roaming view (on board no train).
I have the detector (one instance of it) installed on a model Trainz layout with a two-track loop 7.10 scale miles long.
If nine or ten trains are running at once, some in each direction, the detector voice will be heard quite frequently anywhere my camera is looking on the route.
A particular train is occupied by the human game player when the camera is in any mode but free-roaming view.
The detector voice should only pertain to one given occupied train at the time it is going through the detector checkpoint.
