A quick note on national railway arguments...

What if some of these "noobs" Actually said stuff in a nicer way? Like In my opinion 'such and such' is rubbish?

The "ugliest" loco, is up to one's own opinion. No matter how much they make it seem like a fact.

To be honest, when dealing with these sorts of people, I sugget the 'Sick and stones will break my bones but words will never hurt me' approach. As in, insult it all you want, but that won't change the fact that it's still cool to me.

Or just generally don't reply, just don't get involved.

and the world gets ruder and ruder

Is the word "polite" becomming unpolitcally correct? "Flaming" has no part in these forums. Personally I think the if it runs on rails its beautiful. Of course some engines are more beautiful than others but thats just a matter of personal opinion and it really doenst matter which is which. we all love trains or we wouldnt be here so lets shut this thread DOWN!!!!

You are becoming a part of it again. This thread is now heading towards a slagfest which is exactly what it is not about!

Wait, huh? Sorry, I didn't mean to place the blame on anybody. I was just trying to explain myself, is all. I apologize if it seemed like I was trying to pass the buck or anything.

By the way, That GNER thing above is kinda cool looking to me. I don't know why, but that weird headlight area is very interesting to me.

Oh, and for the record, I like the Great Western for some reason that continues to escape me.

At Ronayne: Do you mind if I include a signature that is 1,600 wide x 1,536 high, and make it say a size of 200 - 300MB? - it seems to be okay by you). See Point 18 in CoC.

===============

Perhaps the Ugly train thread should be closed.

What is ugly to one, may not be ugly to another person. Perhaps a train (or any machine) that people claim is ugly means that the machine maybe more capable of doing its job.

It's not how a train/machine looks, but how a machine does it job.

Some may say the modern day cruise ships don't look that nice, compared to ships of years ago, but they still do what they are designed for.

Without mentioning any trains/trams/machines, etc, how would one describe ugly? You will get several answers.

I thought this section was originally designed for the real trains/trams/light-rail/mono-rail/maglev/road vehicle/ship (hmm, have I missed anything?) to assist in creating the prototype into the Trainz simulator.

Like you said, some like what is called an ugly train.
Therefore you justified the topic as inspirational.
So now it may continue without the, "My train is better than your train," stuff, the point of this whole thread.
