A humble request for the staff to rethink how they handled the situation

Highly unlikely now as a large number of forum members have moved to a "new forum" where there seems to be good debate with no flaming at present. IMHO, it is a very pleasurable, mature and informative place to be, and rapidly developing.

Finished the coffee now back to the real work I am supposed to be doing on this terminal. :D

Amigacooke, I have to agree with your above comment that perhaps two forums should have been brought about within a week of the retail version of T:ane being launched. There are some very prominent members of this forum posting on the new forum who you may well say have opinions on “opposing sides of the fence” over here in regard to Trainz new era.

However, certainly up to now, everyone seems to be able to post and debate in a respectful manner to all opinions, which simply does not seem to be able to happen on this forum.

Amigacook, you and me it would be true to say have disagreed on most things when posting on topics within the forum. That said, we have always treated each other’s opinion with respect and even humour throughout the years we have both been here. I fail to understand why others cannot post in the same manner and with the same respect.

Could it be amigacooke that we are the only two true gentleman on the forum. :)

NB:-amigacooke, can I ask why these days you are placing the Welsh flag at the bottom of all your postings. Is it anything to do with the Rugby World Cup coming up “cus if dat is du case day got no chance” :(

Don't know when you looked but recently I needed to confirm a specific statement someone made. I was hoping it would be as you say, pleasurable, mature and informative but then noticed some of the same insulting behavior directed at N3V and members who don't to their party-line that infested these forums. Seems a new site will not change that. Perhaps once the newness wears off things will settle down.

Looked in this morning while on coffee break, cannot say I seen any of that. possible we are not talking of the same forum? posted on another older train sim forum with a Trainz section a few minutes ago, one or two from here have been trying to "stir things up" over their but to that forum members credit have been ignored.

Whatever the case, everyone is entitled to their opinion but should post that opinion respectfully, agreed Martin?

That is what we want in our hobby

Oh agree wholeheartedly. As for opinions, as long as the idea is debated and not the person, the more the merrier. What a dull world this would be if everyone agreed with everyone. I probably had another new forum in mind.

Martin, I could not agree more with your above posting. The section I have highlighted and underlined is the essence of all that everyone should agree on. We can all argue on the rights and wrongs of T:ane, the fundraising and the actions of N3V since the retail launch.

However, it cannot be right to name and personally attack management and employees within the company or personally attack members of this forum whatever their views or actions.

As with the postings between amigacooke and myself, me and you Martin have in the past very much disagreed on topics raised within this forum. However, once again we have always dealt with each other's opinions with respect when posting or replying.

I often think that some members of this forum undoubtedly post with their heart, but should also think carefully on how their "un-edited heartfelt view" will be looked on by others especially if that involves addressing other members opinions.
It is right to post with the heart, it is equally right to edit that heartfelt feeling with the keyboard.

Nice to debate with you again Martin as its been quite some time. I think we were arguing about engines in power units the last time we crossed respectful swords (LOL)

Ah, those were the days when the biggest areas of concern on this forum was who put what engines in what power unit :D

This thread sounds like social babble from one of the popular social sites. Little quips flying back and forth. However, it is at least something to do while we wait. Looking at the creators/developers forum there are lots of problems, even in the latest test release. Perhaps Tony can amend the messages and news items that use the word weeks, to say months.
 
Hi everybody.
I am aware that being of a "more mature age" I may not necessarily still retain all the marbles I had in former years. However, I was certain in my now lesser mind that this thread had been locked. Did any other member believe the same.

In regard to Boleyds posting with reference to this thread resembling a social media site, then it seems to me that on this forum of recent months everyone is at each others throats in one thread and then the best of friends in another (LOL). However, long may the peace last on this occasion.

I thought it was amigacooks dragon in his signature strip that got the thread locked. I was about to tell him that if it was the male of the species then with no back legs moving about must be very painful in the "groin area" . Perhaps that is why his dragons expression is one of a large grimace.
