A grid is 32.8' [], but what it it's height ?

I want to map some existing real life terrain data on my TRAINZ route.
At one point the terrain rises 10' for exactly 1,000' northward. The zero point is the north edge of my station platform.

When I create my slope (the default displacement slope won't work for this because my zero point is really 968'), How would I know what 10' is at the north end? Would I click +10 in TERRAIN HEIGHT, fill it in - then create my slope? Is the value 10 in TRAINZ 2006 10' or 32.8' (10 meters), or what ?

To put it simply, how would I determine 10' height from any given point on a grid ?

Thanks for any help.

10' rise
------------ = 1% grade
1000' run

If you know where your 1000' foot mark is, just use a 1% grade over that length of track.
