A Few Problems

When I enter driver it starts with a screen divided in half by green texture half and a blank but not white half, also the driver icon is not visible in external view. When I click free roaming I am in the corner on the map, miles away from the trains I have added, so I eventually find the train.

Also the clock freezes at a random time, once 11:00, once 11:22:36 and does not move from the time.

I am running TRS2006 SP1 3099 on a laptop with windows vista.

I'm fairly new here myself, but since noone else has posted I will give it a try.

You dont mention if this problem has just started, or you just recently installed TRS2006 and this is the only thing you have done. If the problem just started, then it seems as if something you recently installed to your computer may be at fault.

If this is a clean install did you disable your virus protection during install of trs2006 and the update?

Do you have the latest video drivers?
Are you using the default "Performance" options? Perhaps minimize them all and see how it goes.

Did you recently install new content, if so try deleting 'assets.tdx' and let the program rebuild the "cache'


(by the way, you may consider looking in the TRS2006 trains support pages)
Have you done a search for "vista" , you may fiind out what should be done to clear up your specific issue

The list of things to try may be much larger, but maybe something I have said may help, good luck

I recently installed TRS2006 on my laptop. Then a lot of custom content from my PC (with windows XP).

The laptop is a Toshiba Satellite L300D-18D.

For what ever reason Vista doesn't like trainz. Now really idea why but thats could be a problem too!

What spec is your laptop and have ran Trainzdiag to see if your laptop passes all tests to run Trainz?

Now I have a new problem.

If I try to download something off a website to be used in TRS2006, using CMP it doesn't work and I get the error "Unable to register URL registry key".

How do I solve this?

Glen,

1. According to the experts, with Vista Trainz must be both installed and run in Administrator mode.

2. If you installed SP1, did you follow the instructions precisely? Some of the symptoms you describe suggest the possibility of a bad SP1 install.
