750mm Freelance NG Module

Well, all is installed in TS2012SP1HF1. There are a total of 1 with an error I can't resolve.

The asset is KUID 38361:40, and the error I get is "This asset has an invalid KUID user id". I've looked into the config file and can't see anything that would cause this.

There was also one item downloaded that had numerous scripting errors (KUID 478358:1058) but, when I ran the dependencies, it wasn't listed so perhaps I can just forget that bit of content.

All in all, that was a masterful presentation of everything needed for an entire route. My hat is off to you, Andy and to all the Russian content creators. I just know this route is going to get a lot of use.

EDIT: I also forgot to mention that there were five bits of content where the screenshot was flagged (now) as an error since it was referenced but not present. Adding a dummy screenshot solved that problem. Anyone else downloading and installing into TS2012SP1 or SP1HF1 will have to do the same. I'm sorry, but I didn't write down which content it was.

And now that I have gone into Trainz and had a look at the route I am amazed by the attention to detail and the general, all-around ambiance of rural Russia. It is unfortunate (and definitely NOT a problem with your route, Andy) that most of the display is a virtual slideshow.

Pretty much all of my routes that worked fairly well in unpatched TS2012 are now slideshows. I have four of my own routes that I cannot work on because of this. Items (mostly trees and buildings) that tend to 'pop up' and then disappear with disturbing regularity each time I rotate around the cursor. It is as if the rendering engine just forgets what you have been looking at and then, when you come back around, re-loads it again. But, that has been reported in the bugs thread and certainly does not reflect, as I said, on your route.

I have not tried to run any session, but just had a look around the whole board. Great work.

Thanks Bill - stick it in TS10 :)

I have read that the SP1 slide-show pop-up is being worked on, but being such a small route once it has loaded the content once it should run pretty much dead smooth.....

I agree, Andy. Such a small route SHOULD run nicely, but doesn't. As I said, routes which worked normally in the unpatched version of TS2012 are now mostly useless in the patched version. Onve things get ironed out with the current version, I will try once again to run it. Until such time, I am going to do as you suggest and drop it into TS2010. It is such a nice route I hate not being able to take advantage of all the nice improvements in TS2012, but the drawbacks are just overwhelming.

I'll let you know how things go tomorrow after breakfast.

Andy:

I have decided to remove the route from TS2012SP1HF1 (and TS2012), and just leave it on TS2010(latest SP). It runs well and, oddly enough, runs much better in DirectX instead of OpenGL. This is strange because I have an NVIDIA card in my computer and they aren't supposed to run DX very well. Go figure.

A strange thing: In TS2010 there were untextured areas in the sandpit. In TS2012, they weren't. So, I went into TS2012 and did a 'get texture' on the missing bit (which was visible in TS2012 - not TS2010). It came up as A12 (KUID:1987:12) but it wasn't listed as a dependency nor was it in the KUID table in the config file of the TS2010 route. Since I used the very same CDP in both 2010 and 2012, I was mystified. Rather than mess with it, I just covered the area with some of the surrounding texture (dirt1) and saved the route. Problem solved.

I especially like the missing bridge over the river where the tracks swoop over the road bridge and then back to the main. That's a nice touch.

Thanks Bill! The not-missing missing testure thing is a TS10 'feature'. The reason it shows in your rinstall of TS12 is you must have that texture installed already in 12, but it isn't in your 10. Identifying the 'not missing' texture and be very difficult because it is invariably a blended texture and 'Get Texture' always shows the other texture in the stack.....

@ RED_SHARK - love the new flat (platform)!

So I've downloaded the route of the Checkrail website but I've got quite a number of missing dependencies as well as several items that came up with "unknown content error" during download using Download Helper in TS2010:

Failed Downloads:
<kuid:428217:113>,<kuid:428217:2045>,<kuid:428217:2206>,<kuid:428217:2015>,<kuid:428217:2026>,<kuid:428217:2039>,<kuid:428217:2047>,<kuid:428217:2028>,<kuid:428217:2200>,<kuid:428217:2166>,<kuid:428217:2201>,<kuid:173943:200343>

As for the missing dependencies, is it possible to attach the list as a .txt file? With 97 missing assets, I don't want to totally clog up the page.

Cheers, Evan.

Hi,
<kuid:428217:113>,<kuid:428217:2045>,<kuid:428217:2206>,<kuid:428217:2015>,<kuid:428217:2026>,<kuid:428217:2039>,<kuid:428217:2047>,<kuid:428217:2028>,<kuid:428217:2200>,<kuid:428217:2166>,<kuid:428217:2201>,<kuid:173943:200343>
The 113 and the whole range of numbers between 2000 and 2201 are available on the DLS, but they are have build version 3.6 so need TS12 for download. I would not be surprised this also goes up for most if not all of the other numbers.

Are you certain you have downloaded, installed and committed everything from the checkrail page? There should be no missing route content if you did. Session content is another matter, though I verified that content just a few weeks ago. One or two things might have gone astray since, but not 90+!

What version of Trainz are you using? The route is TS10 Build 44088. It is checked in TS12 up to but not including SP1. I simply cannot offer content support for TS12SP1 and up. That particular can of worms is not of my making....

I'm using TS2010. And it seems that the missing assets are courtesy of my copy of CMP playing silly buggers. As for which version of Trainz I'm using, I'm using TS2010 build 43434 which explains a lot.

Hello Dermmy

Had built a new PC and in the process of reinstalling bits and pieces, thought I would grab your amazing kanshino route, but I have found that Flat Cars 2 is no longer available on the link you have postedon your list of downloads, Comes up as site closed. Other than that all content came down and installed fine.

Cheers

Trent

Excellent video, RS. Those engines are sure beat up, arent' they? Proper aging and dirtying of content created for Trainz is necessary for realism. I wish I was good at it.

EDIT: Speaking of realism. I wonder if anyone has thought of making a set of rails such as those in the video. They are out of kilter and look very realistic under those circumstances. I think a set of tracks like that would be quite usable out in a soft, boggy field.
