4-Aspect signal light issue!

Following post was copied from the Trainz Classics area.

Scenario: I have a goods train heading up a busy main line and it is directed to take a right branch. On the branch line there are three signal blocks from the main/branch junction to a Station with a train in the platform (therefore 2 clear blocks prior to Station).

Problem: The goods train gets a double amber at the junction but will not proceed therefore impacting following trains. If I move the train in the station out of its block, the main/branch junction signal goes green and the goods train proceeds onto the branch.

In this scenario, I want the goods train to proceed to the first branch signal so that it clears the main line. The fact that it gets a double amber tells me that the signaling is doing exactly what I want ...... but why does the goods train not cooperate?

Ideas anybody?

Regards. Colin.

G'day Colin,

It might be worth your while trying an invisible signal after the first branch signal? I know it's more of a work-around than a solution but could keep you going?

Cheers

Hi Russell - Interesting that with some random testing of locos, all steam locos stopped at the double amber however, an electric loco behaved as expected. Maybe the "old guys" were dozing off????? Anyway, adding the invisible signal as you suggested resolved the issue so ............ thx a lot mate.

G'day Colin,

I have had to resolve a couple of situations not unlike yours recently by using invisible signals so it was in the forefront of my memory. Is there such a place? I don't remember!!!

Cheers
Russell.
