As i understand Auran are working on an SP1 patch already for the WBE. When the patch is finished, will the digital version be updated to contain the patch, or will the patch forever remain as a seperate download.

Regards barryg

Hi,

as I understand it SP1 will patch the DVD version and any digital D/L that's been D/L'd prior to SP1's release.

The digital D/L post SP1 will most likely be an all inclusive release.

Steve.

4 gold stars for magicentro :)

Gold release next week (unless something unforeseen occurs).
SP1 mid-December. Lots of tweaks and improvements.
Digital download and DVD customers will use this to patch to the latest version (just like windows updates that happen every now and then).
From that date on, DD will be the new SP1 version.
DVD edition will operate on V1 until sold out then the first reprint will be SP1.

TEE early next year with even more fun stuff.

Hi !
Theoretically ? Yes....., but as Tony states in the 3.rd line : You can update Your version with the service-pack's as soon as Auran makes them available on the homepage.

Kind regards, Al from Denmark.

I'm afraid so. And the day you get your SP1, we'll be a month down the track towards the next release.

With the advent of the internet, software development is evolving into a service more than a product. Historically, manufacturers would invest in R&D, make the tools, then create the widgets. People would pay for the widgets and each year the manufacturer would retool and make a new, better widget.

With software, we ar able to "retool" every month and distribute incremental improvements to the widget on an ongoing basis.

It's going to take a generation or two until this process is well understood and accepted but for now we have a choice of releasing a good product with regular updates or waiting many months and releasing a better product. I believe it is better for the consumer and the developer to take the "release now and update frequently" approach.

At least you plan on updating frequently, not like some companies I could mention...:hehe:

Hi Tony :) I have pre ordered trs09 and looking forward to its arrival.

Glad to here that there will be SP's for fixes of known problems, however I only hope that the SP's are alot better than the last one for classics 3:'( .

I'm not blaming you pursae but as I'm a hopeless computer operator I managed to get classics 3 installed over tc1/2 but had the slow running trains.I was happy to put up with that as I was mainly building my new prototypical transdem route and was after the new signaling system. Then decided to install patch, well not to get off topic but it is in tip somewhere now:( .

Keep up the good work as I will not be getting left behind as I plan on getting the new releases of trs as they are invented even if it gives me grief.shane.
