I'm afraid so. And the day you get your SP1, we'll be a month down the track towards the next release.
With the advent of the internet, software development is evolving into a service more than a product. Historically, manufacturers would invest in R&D, make the tools, then create the widgets. People would pay for the widgets and each year the manufacturer would retool and make a new, better widget.
With software, we ar able to "retool" every month and distribute incremental improvements to the widget on an ongoing basis.
It's going to take a generation or two until this process is well understood and accepted but for now we have a choice of releasing a good product with regular updates or waiting many months and releasing a better product. I believe it is better for the consumer and the developer to take the "release now and update frequently" approach.
