I believe TRS2004 came out in late 2003, TS2009 a year ago.

I think the OP means that TS2010 has been released in the calendar year 2009. While technically correct, it's really not that important, the PC industry has been doing this ever since Office 97 came out.

It's only the same as the magazine industry has been doing here for years. It has now reached the stage where the December issue is published before the end of October.
