2010 Trainz EE Patch decompress didn't work

I have a new version of Trainz 2010 EE, just loaded from the CD. When I start it up, it says there's a patch available, would I like to load it. Selected "Yes", it downloads, but the process fails after the download due to an error decompressing the patch.

two alternatives come to my mind.

(a) find the downloaded patch (where would that be?) and delete it so it tries from scratch to do the download.

(b) go to the support site and download the patch for 2010 EE. I tried that and Norton says the certificate is unworthy of trust.

Thoughts about how to proceed?

Welcome to the forums.

The automatic patcher does sometimes play up, but it's usually caused by antivirus software blocking it.

As for the manual method, what 5-digit number is showing at the bottom-right of the Launcher screen (also known as the build number)?
