2010 install box freezes up

freezes up intalling as adon and asked for disk installing as stand alone

i believe it is adding on to 2009 it goes through the prep work and when it comes to the install box it freezes

Hi Steve123
Please allow a while for the installer to unpack, and check your TS2009 install if installing as an add-on. On some machines, the unpacking of the installer could take 20 or more minutes, due to it's size.

Please also ensure that your TEMP folder is empty, as the installer may use this whilst performing the install. On some computers, the TEMP folder may have a lower maximum, and as such the installer may not be able to fully unpack if it is full.

What size is the file that you downloaded?

Hit the Browse button and navigate to where you downloaded the 5 files.

You need to ensure that you have downloaded all 5 files before starting the installer file sizes are as follows:

setup.exe - 384,674 bytes
setup-1a.bin - 1,565,614,976 bytes
setup-1b.bin - 1,566,000,000 bytes
setup-1c.bin - 1,566,000,000 bytes
setup-2a.bin - 915,026,580 bytes

Also there may be an issue with the preorder emails going out not having all the links listed as the files were only added today, I will be looking into this.

The best method is to use your order history in your Planet Auran profile.

If you are installing on Win 7, you may try running setup in compatibility mode (try Win XP SP3 mode) and admin rights.

Check that you don't have another instance of Trainz running.

I would do a clean install, not an upgrade. Keep your TS2009 install.
You can transfer your routes, assets, etc from 09 to 10 by exporting to .cdp and the importing into 2010. You will also need to export the dependencies.
