It's not a showstopper, but more often than not it becomes a crude sight since I moved to Vista. Is there something I can change to remedy this?

This is caused by your video card. Try the antialias and anistrophic settings for your video card and this should minimize or even eliminate this problem.
I currently have all settings at maximum (24x edge-detect AA, 16x AF, mipmaps on High, Catalyst AI on High, Adaptive AA on and triple buffering enabled for OpenGL). I run Trainz in DirectX though, at 1280x768.
I'm not sure this is the problem as lowering the settings don't make a difference. This issue was not prevalent before I moved from Windows XP to Windows Vista x86. DirectX 9.0c. Beginning to think it has something to do with DirectX 10...
