    Railway emergency locomotives?

So, I was thinking about what equipment the railways/railroads have for dealing with emergencies. I mean, for broken down trains in Britain, we have the Virgin Thunderbirds. But we don't have firefighting locomotives. Over in Switzerland, they have this...

Tiny standard gauge locomotives. (Cuteness alert)

As far as I know, there are three tiny standard gauge steam locomotives that I know of that reside over here in Britain. First two are Alfred and Judy. Below is a link to a video of Judy, thanks to merlin67able: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8iXT3070Ml4 And then there's Peckett No 1900 aka...

    Have you any pets?

Have you got any pets at home? I've got a Hamster, who I recently bought home on the 6th of February. His name's Natsu. I named him after a character called Natsu Dragoneel off Fairy Tail. He's still quite young. I've had lots of hamsters in the past, the last one died on the 9th of January. Oh...

    Windows 10 low memory warning.

So, this usually happens if it's repairing the trainz asset database (in TANE). More particularly, when it's at the 'scanning for faulty asset files' stage. And after a few mins, it throws up a low memory warning, (this is to do with RAM) and decides to terminate 'Building Trainz Asset Database'...

    American Standard Gauge Tank locomotives

I've noticed that America has fewer Standard Gauge tank locomotives... is it because there wasn't a need for them? Or is this a silly assumption?

Ok, now that's wierd. (Large image alert)

This is Skipton to Carlisle, however, those telephone poles don't look right. And the trees look..well... blocky. Yes, this is TANE that this is on. Any Ideas how to sort these?

Locomotives that were not saved from the scrapper's jaws

All of us at Trainz are grateful for the work of those who keep our heritage railways running, wherever they may be. But let us not forget the locomotives that weren't saved from the scrap heap. At least two locomotives that I can mention is Hudswell Clarke 325, 'Worsley' and Hudswell Clarke...

Time I came out of hiding!

Well, it's been a while hasn't it! I'm finally back behind the keyboard. The downstairs computer died on us, Dad got a new laptop, and I was stuck with my crappy old laptop....Until dad decided not to keep the old Windows XP computer. That really pissed me off...and I was so fed up with my...

Newcastle is a nightmare to navigate

No, really. It's full of switches, and junctions and stuff. On the map, it's even scarier. It really is hell for a driver, because they not only have to dodge other locomotives, they also have to check the switches are set correctly. it really is annoying. Everytime I have to go through...

    Horn/whistle restrictions

Most of you know that people complain about noise levels of train horns, especially when they are living next to a railway. According to wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Train_horn#United_Kingdom http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Train_horn#Train_horns_and_popular_culture What annoys me is...
