From that I am assuming that you are talking about the surface/landscape grid - normally grey with yellow lines? If it is showing blue then it may be an issue with you having an older build number. There was a bug in earlier releases of TS12 that sometimes resulted in "blue sky" appearing through the ground. What is your current build number? If it is not 61388 then updating should resolve the problem.
