Upload problems

Hi there. I have a couple of questions:

1. Is it usual to have previous versions of sessions be part of a later version that I now wish to upload?

2. Can anyone tell me how I can fix things like these listed:
The addition of your content file 1046_12142013.cdp has failed due to the following reasons:

Hi,

I personally always upload content via Content Manager (CM). In CM I can already see the errors before I upload stuff.

Please post that part of the config file you are getting the errors about so we can tell you what you should remove.

Please host the image you use in your signature on your own website as I will remove it soon from mine or replace it by something annoying.

drejonwilliams - use the Create New Thread option at the top of the forum when you are viewing the list of threads in the forum.

Razor01 - What method are you using to create your updated versions?

It shouldn't be, but it may be under a slightly different name. It appears in pretty much every forum before you click on a specific thread. (There's only a few where that's not the case)

Hi Oknotsen & Shane,

I do upload through CM, but when there are errors, I'm not always sure where to find & fix them, or even how to fix them.

I've been working on the A and SLT MP TS12 CAD Sessions for quite a while now, and usually it uploads fine. Now is my first upload in many months (since last spring) and it has errors that I've never had to deal with before. I'm not sure what file is the config file that you are referring to oknotsen, but the above is what is in the errors returned from Auran.

Here is the full list I get when I look at errors and warnings in the session file I'm trying to upload:

Error: Dependency <kuid:547768:100008> is unknown.
Error: Dependency <kuid:547768:100018> is unknown.

Shane, I've been updating versions for about a year. I simply take the existing layout & session, make changes, save them under a new layout name, then a new session name (for some reason they don't both change in one go). I just noticed now that previous sessions are being saved as part of the new sessions, so now I have old versions in the new one - part of the session file. Here is a sample - all versions I was working with since the last update:

A and SLT MP TS12 CAD Session V7.6 SP1,<kuid:547768:100004>
A and SLT MP TS12 CAD Session V8.0,<kuid:547768:100019>
A and SLT MP TS12 CAD Session V8.1,<kuid:547768:100029>
A and SLT MP TS12 CAD Session V8.2,<kuid:547768:100033>
A and SLT MP TS12 CAD Session V8.3,<kuid:547768:100036>
A and SLT MP TS12 CAD Session V8.4,<kuid:547768:100041>
A and SLT MP TS12 CAD Session V8.5,<kuid:547768:100044>
A and SLT MP TS12 SP1 HF4 9.0,<kuid:547768:100023>

I also have 2 Faulty Assets that I tried to remove, both from in surveyor and from CM, but they stay in the session file:
Cedar with Sound,<kuid2:68787:22042:11>
Usa - Truck Western Star 4800 Red,<kuid:524343:6822>

I also have assets with warnings but they always seem to work fine, assets that say they have an upload available but they won't download the update.

Anything you can help me with will be appreciated.

Ah - I see a problem. Your method has created several different KUIDs, when in effect you should only have one route and save each change. If you need different versions of the route, use Create New Version in Content Manager.

Thanks for the info - I will do that in the future.

Do you think I can fix what I have now? I have 100's of hours in time put into the session and layout in the last 6 months or so... :)

Your best bet is to use whichever is the latest version of the route and work with that only, using Create New Version each time you want to create an updated version of the route.

Hi Shane,

Does that mean that I have to use the latest route but cannot salvage all the session changes? When I Create New Version it still includes the old versions in it right now.
